We’re looking for some amazing parents, grandparents, or family members to join our fantastic team of volunteers and help our Saturday competitions run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. These duties replace your normal parent duties 🙂
We currently have a few rewarding volunteer opportunities available:
➡️ Track Safety Officer/s
This is a new role designed to further enhance safety for our athletes, volunteers, age managers, and officials. Track Safety Officers will help ensure that only authorised people are on the track and that athletes can safely enter and exit competition areas. It’s a great way to make a real difference while being close to the action.
➡️ Announcer/s
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would enjoy being part of our announcing team on Saturday mornings. Working alongside an assistant, you’ll help coordinate and announce events throughout the day. This is one of the most important roles in Saturday mornings and plays a key part in keeping the program running smoothly. It’s also a fun and rewarding way to be involved in the excitement of competition day. Did we also mention there’s air conditioning? A welcome perk on those hot summer mornings!
➡️ Setup crew
Two teams of awesome humans on a rotating fortnightly basis to assist our SLA crew in setting up for our competitions on Saturday mornings, starting at 6am and finishing 7:30/7:45am - just in time for the action to begin! Set up crew is a sought after position as it allows families to get their fortnightly duty done and dusted before events start, allowing more time for spectating, socialising and hitting up the bbq. It’s also one of the shortest duties so it’s a win-win. No experience required.
