Men’s Social Bowls/ Inlet Butchery FINAL – Wednesday, 27th May
Rain, Rain go away. Well after our weekend of anticipation & with a wet start to the week, we had clear sky this morning and even better a good turnout of bowlers showed up for social bowls on the synthetic green. As well spectators to the FINAL of the Inlet Butchery Handicap Singles. Bowlers took to the green at 12:30 as per usual, knowing their effort will pay off today with the $300 dollar jackpot having to go off! We had 30 players today with winning rink and jackpots' consisting of B. Harbrow, G. OShea, B. Woods, R. Gasparini, S. McCarthy & his companion J. McCarthy as our visitor, he picked a good time to play! Second winning rink was 14 with a game of pairs G. Ball, B. Barrett. & losers of the day P. Carruthers, B. Wright, R. Crewdson. There were a lot of winners today with our raffle also grabbed by J. Brien, L. Sperring, A. Neems, K. Hill. A big congratulation to our winner of the 2025/26 Handicaps Singles going to J. Brien. An amazing effort from all who participated, and a thank you to our major sponsor inlet butchery a local family ran business with some amazing selections of meat & even better service!
Women Bowls Wrap-Up – Thursday, 28th May
The rain was back today, unfortunately for the ladies that's another day this week that they have been rained out. We could have charged a pool fee and had swimming lessons at the Bowlo today. Let's hope the sun is shining for the ladies next week so they can get a couple of good games in.
Men’s 300 Club Wrap Up – Friday, 29th May
Well after 6 weeks, Johnsy was having his last game, before having to go home, to do a lap of Australia. I am sure we will see you on the way around. You have fitted in well. 24 men turned up on a lovely day for bowling, sun shining, slight breeze, what more do you want?. A coldie I guess. Winning rink were Tommy, Crackers and Terry Marriott. Nearly there, was Al Hilder, Whotto and John Naismith. Meat trays raffles supplied by our sponsor, Inlet Butchery (thanks boy’s) were won by Frank Satori (bloody 2), Jake Robinson (Welcome Jake) and John Critcher. See you at 12.00 noon, next Friday.
Inlet Butchery Mixed Fours QTR FINAL Wrap-Up – Saturday, 30th May
Beautiful day it was, sun was shining & not a cloud in sight. We had the first round of our mixed fours today on the synthetic green, with 24 players hitting for the club competition. The ladies and men had a morning chat and headed down to the greens at 12:30pm. We had six teams of fours playing today, with four of the teams being neck to neck throughout the game. Bowlers started coming into the club around 3:30pm where they handed in their cards and we got the results. Congratulations to N. Lawrence, K. Parkhill, J. Young, M. Lawrence & T. Robertson, L. O’Shea, L. Sperring, G. O’Shea & C. Strong, L. Jones, A. Hilder, J. Tudor & C. Bradley, J. Leslie, A. Woods, K. Hill for making it into the Semi Finals of the Mixed Fours, that will be held on Saturday 6th June. See you all there!
Sunday Morning Social Bowls Wrap-Up – Sunday, 31st May
We had a smaller number of bowlers today for the traditional Sunday morning bowls. But that does not stop then from having a good time. Weird week with the weather but it was permitting with the sun shining through the clouds but a bit of a cool breeze of the water. Although that is suspected at this time of the year. 10 bowlers played till 11:45am with the winner rink on 10, consisting of N. Lawrence, T. Marriott, L. Powell, C. Bradley. We hope to see you all again next Sunday.
