Women’s Wednesday Golf Report - 26/8/26

Inclement weather took its toll this week with only 7 hardy souls (definitely not me) deciding to head out for a Stableford Event. Yes, the course and our gardens were grateful for the rain, but it's not so good for playing in - and there goes the run we've been having so much fun with recently.
Results - Winner - Pat Neems 34 c/b
Nearest the Pins - Robyn Whittaker scooped the pool with closest marker on the 8th, 14th and 17th holes.

Ball Run down - B. Brill 34; K. Vincent 33

Our Round Robin Girls played at Callala, finishing again in the top three. With only one game to go things are tight on the leader board. We wish them luck and great golf at Mollymook on Monday.

Women’s Wednesday Golf Report - 19/8/26

This was our week for remembering a former member of Women's Golf, Marilyn Ringk, who we lost way too early, There is no better way to celebrate someone's memory than to head out for a game of golf and then raise a glass to them at the end of play. So we did just that - Here's to you Marilyn. We played a 2 Person Stableford Best Ball Medley off the Yellow Tees, perhaps the most enjoyable game you can play - if you mess up you just pick up your ball, tell your partner "Your hole" and become an interested spectator until the next tee - no pressure!

Matchplay Comp for 2026 is underway please check the notice board to see who your opposition is, Round One is to be completed by the end of the month.

Medal of Medals is also coming up soon, if you have won a Medal this year you will be eligible for that - check the electronic timesheet for dates.

Pace of Play continues to be a conundrum for the Committee to try and solve. Obviously we can't do it without the cooperation of our members, but put simply players must stay in touch with the group in front of you. Lots of discussion how this can be achieved without the need for the nuclear option - penalising players' scores. Lynette drew the short straw and has been collating and analysing the time taken by each group over the last couple of months. There are some simple steps we can all take (these will be listed on score cards over the next couple of weeks) and Members are asked to be mindful of the whole playing field - some delays may be unavoidable but many are caused by people just not thinking of how their actions impact others. Thank you to Lynette and Joyce who have both put a lot of thought and effort into finding solutions to this perennial problem. Over to us now, we are the problem, but also the solution.
