Women’s Golf - 3/5/26

Our Big Morning Tea was held this week - after being postponed due to the rain last week - along with our Medal Round and Individual Stableford off multiple tees. Time sheet is getting complicated again for Lynette, but hopefully only temporarily as we all come to grips with the yellow/red tee times regime. Unfortunately I couldn't make it this week, so I missed out on all the fun - and the yummee treats that our members provided to enjoy after our BBQ lunch.

I was sponsoring this Event in memory of my late mother in law, Elva Daintry - who would love the idea of everyone enjoying a round of golf and lunch in her name - she did love the game (in general) and our club (in particular). Like many of our past women members she contributed enormously over the years in both time and effort, and we must acknowledge their contribution - we are so grateful for the wonderful legacy they handed down to us.

Thanks everyone for your generous donations to the Cancer Council fundraiser - amount raised was $461.20 (from guessing game, jams, donations and sale of leftover slices). Thanks to our Committee once again for their hands on effort (with a few of us on the bench it makes for a heavier load for them, so we appreciate all they do - its not compulsory, but they do it anyway).

Results for the day - Winner - Robyn Whittaker 68(nett) Runner up - Caryl Baker-Turley 70.

⚠️ COURSE SAFETY REMINDER ⚠️

Sussex Inlet Golf Club would like to remind all members of the public that the golf course is private property and is an active sporting venue where golf is played.

As highlighted on the warning signs located throughout the course, entering the golf course carries an inherent risk of injury from golf balls and golfing activities. This includes anyone accessing the area via the fire trails or other pathways that cross or run alongside the course.

Recently, we have had instances of bike riders and pedestrians crossing in front of players who were preparing to tee off. For everyone's safety, please exercise extreme caution when using these trails.

⛳ If a golfer is preparing to hit, please stop and wait until the shot has been played before proceeding.
⛳ Golfers may not see you approaching and may be unable to stop their swing in time.
⛳ Golf balls can travel at high speeds and may cause serious injury.
⛳ The golf course is not a designated bike riding or dog walking area.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping keep both golfers and visitors safe while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Sussex Inlet.
