Things that I have done to help keep me sane lately π
(But really, they're my life must do's):
β’ π© Charlie is my number one. Getting to cuddle him, and take him out and see him happy, truly brings me so much joy
β’ βοΈ Go outside. I love nature. But I will also make the effort to drive 30 minutes or more for some killer scenery.
β’ π° Treat yo'self! I don't feel guilty about eating "naughty" food. Life is meant to be lived. And everything can be enjoyed in moderation. Besides, food connects people. It's a shared experience. Who doesn't love enjoying amazing food with the best people??
β’ πΎ Charlie turns 14 this August. As he gets older he's really become more of a companion lap boy, and I love it. It's some of our happiest things to do.
β’ ππΎββοΈ Intensity has been pulled right back, but I still feel amazing after each session. Moving my body is absolutely necessary. I started off with super short walks and struggling to go more than a block, now I am adding an extra exercise to my "four exercises only" block because I'm feeling stronger each week. And this is honestly bringing me so much joy...and stability!
β’ πΆ Gigs. It's been soOo good being able to dance again.
β’ ππΎ Self care nights with chill music, a book and a toasty cosy bath with my special grape juice. Deepest sleeps ensue.
β’ π―ββοΈ Spending time with the people I absolutely adore and who brighten my shine every time.
β’ ππΎββοΈ Treatments for me. This ranges from skincare to acupuncture, massages, therapy and lately, kinesiology.
I am doing it all. I love feeling happy and light, and this happens when I get to do the things I love. I don't love therapy but, it helps so π€·πΎββοΈ Not everything gets to happen each week, but enough of them do to keep me feeling hopeful, optimistic and happy.
Life will be what you make of it. I'm making sure mine is full of connection, great food, fun and love. Thats living Barry β¨
