Hi everyone, just a reminder there will be no Maranoa Sporting Clays or Surat Clay Target Club shoot held in May due to the Roma S***t Carnival being held on Saturday 16th May 2026, which also includes Event 3 – the Western Zone S***t Championship.

There will also be no shoot held in June due to the Wandoan Clay Target Club Annual Shoot being held from 19–21 June 2026. We encourage everyone to head along to Wandoan and support the club. ☺️

Our next shoot will be our Christmas 🎄 in July Shoot on Saturday 18th July 2026, followed by a Safety Course on Sunday 19th July 2026. 🎄🎯

We wish all competitors the very best of luck and look forward to seeing everyone back at our next shoot soon.

What a fantastic day we had for our April Monthly Shoot at Surat Clay Target Club! ☀️🎯

Surat turned on the weather for us — clear skies, plenty of sunshine, and just enough breeze to keep things interesting (or to blame when things didn’t go quite to plan 😉).

We had 22 shooters take to the line, and judging by the scores… we might need to have a quiet word with the target setters 😅 — with 5 shooters across 3 grades all finishing on 192/200, the targets must’ve been just a little too friendly today!

🏆 Results:
Overall Winner: Fletcher Cameron (Roma) – 194/200

AA Grade: Nathan McKee (St George) 192/200 +76/76
Now this one had it all… a three-way shoot-off, one dropping out after 10 targets, leaving it down to father vs son. Both shot a flawless 25/25 (75/75) 😳
So… how do you decide a winner? A coin toss, of course!
And with that… Dad (Nathan) took the win.
Sorry Brayden… we’re not saying it was a double-headed coin… but we’re not saying it wasn’t either. 😂

This was a squad worth watching! Three juniors together, all pushing each other — must’ve made for a very lively car ride home 🚗💬
A huge congratulations to Henry Johnson taking the win, with Rabbit Chambers-Rice and Mitchell Aisthorpe close behind. The future of the sport is looking very bright — great shooting boys!

Thanks to everyone who came along, helped out, and made the day such a great success. We love seeing the mix of experienced shooters and rising talent out on the range.

Looking forward to doing it all again next month — and maybe… just maybe… we’ll make those targets a bit harder 😉🎯
