Update - Mooloolaba Boat Harbour entrance shoaling event

Ahead of the Easter long weekend – mariners are reminded a shoaling event remains present in the Mooloolaba Boat Harbour entrance channel.

Maritime Safety Queensland advises all vessel operators transiting the Mooloolah River bar to:
• Continue to navigate via the western channel which is marked by Virtual Aids to Navigation.
• Exercise extreme caution when crossing the bar
• Monitor on-water and weather conditions carefully before heading out, and while on the water.

The dredge, currently on-site will undertake clearing of the shoal as conditions permit.

Personal safety is a priority, please navigate with caution.

Coastal bars are dynamic in nature with conditions constantly changing.

If in doubt, don’t go out.
