Smithys Fishing Charters With great sadness we share the passing of Robert Smith, the heart & Captain of Smithy's Fishing Charters. Due to this tragic loss, all charters are cancelled.

Apologies for the disruption & we appreciate your understanding during this difficult time. Smithys Fishing Charters is unique in the fact that they run two boats, the 7.7m (25’) offshore boat “Capricorn” and the 4.55m (15’) inshore boat “Kuhlia” to make the most of the prevailing weather conditions. “Capricorn” is centrally located on the Minyama canals off the Mooloolah river at the Kawana Waters Hotel on the Sunshine Coast and “Kuhlia” is on a trailer so can operate anywhere in South East Queensland. If you are looking for the perfect gift for a fishing enthusiast, you can purchase a gift voucher from us, we can also tailor a trip to suit everyone including from individuals to groups, corporate or bucks parties, end of year or Christmas work trips. We cater for most people this includes women and children or people that may be less experienced. Canal cruises and dolphin spotting tours for tourists are also available on request.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Robert Smith, the heart and Captain of Smithy Fishing Charters. He was not only a beloved Husband, Son, Father, Brother, and Friend, but also a passionate fisherman who loved sharing the ocean with so many of you.

Due to this heartbreaking loss, all upcoming charters will be cancelled. We sincerely apologise for the disruption and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time. We will be in touch directly with affected clients.

Joel caught a couple of mid 40s on the way home Sunday afternoon on Final Edition. I think we ended up 7/8 on snapper in a few drifts but definitely had our chances at bagging easily. No marlin or deep drop fish out wide.
