💜 WOMEN’S HEALTH WEEK | DAY 5: TO CONNECT

Today’s focus is “To Connect” 🤝

Connection is an important part of our health and wellbeing. It doesn’t have to be a big gesture — sometimes it’s the small moments that make the biggest difference.

Connection might look like:
💬 Sending a message to a friend
☕ Catching up for a coffee
👨‍👩‍👧 Spending quality time with family
🌿 Joining a local group or community activity
❤️ Reaching out when you need support
😊 Simply having a chat with someone around you

As Exercise Physiologists, we know that health is about more than exercise alone. Feeling connected, supported and part of a community can play an important role in our overall wellbeing.

This Women’s Health Week, take a small step towards connection. Reach out, start a conversation and make time for the people who matter. 💜

WOMEN’S HEALTH WEEK | DAY 4: TO BREATHE

Today’s focus is “To Breathe” 🌿

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health — and looking after our wellbeing can look different at different stages of life.

Between work, family, relationships, caring responsibilities and the many demands of everyday life, it’s easy to put ourselves last.

Taking a moment to pause, breathe and check in with yourself can be a simple but meaningful place to start.

Try:
🌿 Taking a few slow, deep breaths
☀️ Getting outside for some fresh air
🚶‍♀️ Going for a walk
🧘‍♀️ Making time for something that helps you unwind
💬 Talking to someone you trust
❤️ Asking for help when you need it

As Exercise Physiologists, we know that physical and mental health are closely connected. Movement can be one part of supporting your wellbeing, alongside rest, connection and seeking professional support when needed.

This Women’s Health Week, give yourself permission to pause, breathe and prioritise your wellbeing. You don’t have to do it perfectly — just start somewhere. 💜

💜 WOMEN’S HEALTH WEEK | DAY 3: TO REST

Today’s focus is “To Rest” 😴

Rest is an important part of looking after our health — but with work, family, caring responsibilities, stress and everything in between, slowing down isn’t always easy.

Quality sleep and rest help support our physical health, mental wellbeing, energy, recovery and ability to function at our best.

A few simple ways to prioritise rest:
🌙 Create a calming bedtime routine
📱 Give yourself a break from screens before bed
🧘‍♀️ Make time to slow down and unwind
⏰ Aim for a consistent sleep routine where possible
💜 Remember that rest is productive — your body needs time to recover

As Exercise Physiologists, we often talk about exercise and movement, but recovery is just as important. Your body adapts and gets stronger when you give it the opportunity to rest and recover.

This Women’s Health Week, give yourself permission to slow down. You don’t have to do everything, every day. 💜

💜 WOMEN’S HEALTH WEEK | DAY 2: TO MOVE

Today’s focus is “To Move” 🚶‍♀️

Being active doesn’t have to mean an intense workout or spending hours at the gym. Movement can look different for everyone — and even small amounts of activity can contribute to better health.

Think about what feels achievable for you:
✨ A walk around the block
💪 Strength exercises at home
🧘‍♀️ Stretching or mobility
🚲 Riding a bike
🌿 Gardening or playing with the kids
🪜 Taking the stairs or simply breaking up long periods of sitting

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s finding ways to move your body that fit into your life and that you enjoy.

As Exercise Physiologists, we can help you find safe, achievable and meaningful ways to move, whether you’re managing a health condition, returning to exercise or simply wanting to feel stronger and healthier.

This Women’s Health Week, do it anyway — start small, move in a way that works for you, and remember that it all counts. 💜

💜 WOMEN’S HEALTH WEEK | DAY 1: TO FUEL

This Women’s Health Week, is focusing on the small things we can do to prioritise our health — without the pressure to do it perfectly.

Today’s theme is “To Fuel” 🍎

Fuelling your body is about more than calories or dieting. It’s about giving your body the energy and nutrients it needs to support your strength, movement, recovery, energy levels and overall wellbeing.

A few simple reminders:
🥗 Aim for a variety of nourishing foods
💧 Stay hydrated throughout the day
🍳 Include protein to support muscle health and recovery
🌾 Choose foods that give you sustained energy
❤️ And most importantly — take the pressure off perfection!

As Exercise Physiologists, we know that nutrition and movement work together to support women’s health across every stage of life.

This week, let’s do it anyway — even if it’s small, imperfect or looks different from day to day.

What’s one small thing you can do to better fuel your body? 💜

National Pain Week 🧡

Pain is complex. It isn’t always a sign that your body is damaged, and for many people, pain can continue long after an injury has healed.

As Exercise Physiologists, we understand that persistent pain is influenced by many factors—including stress, sleep, movement habits, emotions, previous experiences, and overall health. That’s why managing pain is about much more than simply “fixing” an injury.

Exercise is one of the most effective evidence-based treatments for persistent pain. When prescribed appropriately, movement can:
• Improve strength and function
• Reduce pain sensitivity over time
• Increase confidence in movement
• Improve mood
• Help people return to the activities they enjoy

The key is finding the right exercise at the right level.

So let’s shift the conversation from avoiding movement to understanding it. With the right guidance, movement can become a powerful tool for recovery—not something to fear.

If pain has been holding you back, there are effective strategies to help you and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Reach out to our awesome exercise physiology team to get the right treatment you need.
