💙 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT 💙

We are thrilled to announce Lisa Borg as our Senior Women’s Coach for 2027!

Lisa brings an impressive football background back to the Lions, with over 10 years of coaching experience, having played more than 200 senior games, a former Premiership player and Best & Fairest winner.

But most importantly, she knows what it means to be a Lion and we’re excited to have her back leading our women’s program into our 25th Anniversary season. 💙

There’s plenty to look forward to as we build towards 2027, and we’re excited about the direction we’re heading.

We will be holding a Meet the Coach opportunity shortly, giving players and anyone interested in being part of our 2027 women’s program a chance to meet Lisa, hear her vision and have a chat about what lies ahead. Please keep an eye out on our socials for further details.

💛 R U OK? DAY 💛

Football is about more than what happens on the field. It’s about looking after the people beside us, checking in, and making sure no one feels like they’re facing things alone.

Today, we’re reminding everyone in our club — players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters — to ask the question:

R U OK?

It doesn’t have to be a big conversation. Sometimes a simple “How are you going?” can make a difference.

If someone says they’re not okay, take the time to listen, check in again and remind them they’re not alone. 💙

Look out for your teammates. Look out for your mates. Look out for each other.

The ladies are heading down to Roxburgh to play in their last game of the season! The lions last met the magpies in round five at their home ground and are seeking revenge and a win for their last game, let’s get a good crowd around to support these girls and celebrate the season!

Milestone Game - Matilda Thomas - 50 Games 💙🤍

This weekend we celebrate another fantastic milestone as Matilda "Tilly" Thomas runs out for her 50th game.

Having previously played with West Footscray and Maribyrnong Park, Tilly has become an integral part of the Sunbury Lions Women's program. Since joining the club, she has brought passion, determination and an infectious energy that has made her a valued member of our playing group.

If there's one thing everyone knows about Tilly, it's that you'll always hear her before you see her! Whether she's encouraging her teammates, directing traffic on the field or celebrating a great piece of play, her voice carries from one end of the ground to the other and embodies the spirit and enthusiasm she brings every week.

Respected by her teammates and coaches alike, Tilly's commitment, competitive nature and unwavering support for those around her make her an important part of the Lions family.

Congratulations, Tilly, on reaching your 50-game milestone. Thank you for everything you bring to the club, and here's to many more games in the blue and white! 💙🤍🦁
