Our annual Blackbelt dinner occurred this week, an opportunity for us all to get together, discuss the year ahead and enjoy some amazing Japanese food.

Classes are back 5:45 Tuesday 3 Feb.

That's a wrap! 🎅🎄
Last night saw the final class of the year along with Xmas breakup and Award presentation. 🏅🏆
Congratulations to the winners of our awards, these 3 have put in a massive effort over the year and have been a standout. 🎉
- Most Improved: Leah and Jake
- Shihan Award: Jimmy
Senshi pendants were awarded to Erin and Grant. Erin gained her Senshi pendant with her 4th degree promotion recently, and Grant for the amount of work he contributes to Neko Ryu, consistently over the years.
Shihan Damian and Kirsty wish all our students and instructors a merry Christmas and a safe New year and will see you all back in the dojo on the 3 Feb 2026. 🥋🐉

Last week saw several Sunbury Dragons students' grade and be promoted to a higher rank. 🐉🥋

Shihan Damian and all of the instructors were extremely proud of all of the Dragon's performances, attitudes and effort put into training, over the year. 💪🖤

Orange: Matt, Kriss, Chloe, Tyler, Jake, Jimmy, Max F, and Aurora 🧡
Blue: Craig and Leah 💙
Black: Ethan 🖤
4th Degree: Erin and Mick 🖤

Congratulations to Leah 🥋🎉

Leah is working towards her blue belt grading in a few weeks and has been putting in the hard yards. 💙

Over 80 sit ups and push ups, her phenomenal efforts towards her training, and it has not gone unnoticed. 🐉

With an invitation to grade, from Dai Sempai Rhylee at Neko Ryu Woodened, and tonight at Sunbury Dragons awarded her black stripes.

A massive congratulations to Ethan as he advances on his path toward earning his black gi, a crucial milestone on the road to becoming a black belt. 🥋

Ethan completed an impressive 15 rounds of sparring with senior black belts from all four dojos in the club, representing a combined experience of over 100 years. 🥊🥵

Demonstrating unwavering integrity and relentless determination, Ethan overcame significant personal challenges on the floor. He was also awarded his second black tip, and we eagerly anticipate his next step on the journey to achieving his black belt.

From all at Neko Ryu and Sunbury Dragons we look forward to seeing Ethan progress further. 🎉
