✨ What an incredible June Campout we've had! ✨
Saturday was our Rally Day!
Our riders spent the morning with the talented Bruce Withers, learning the ins and outs of working patterns. Bruce's ability to explain and demonstrate each exercise gave our riders plenty of valuable skills and knowledge to take away.
They also had the opportunity to work with Apryl Swan, spending time practising obstacles and building their confidence while developing their horsemanship skills.
The afternoon was spent in the rodeo arena with our very own Tara Davis, who put the riders through their paces with some barrel training. It was fantastic to see the riders challenge themselves, improve their skills, and have plenty of fun along the way.
It was also wonderful to welcome riders from Salt Ash Pony Club and Dungog Pony Club, who made the trip to join us for the day.
We'd also love to thank the Stroud Raiders Football Club and their spectators for ensuring the main gates were kept closed throughout the day - it gives us great peace of mind to know that people were mindful of helping keep our riders and their horses safe.
Sunday saw our much anticipated Ribbon Day, where riders had the opportunity to showcase their skills in the ring for our judge - former Stroud Pony Club member - Millie Tarrant, before finishing the day with an exciting afternoon of sporting events.
A special mention must go to Jennifer Breneger for the many hours she spent keeping us all fed throughout the weekend. From firing up the BBQ across both days to preparing a delicious roast dinner (that sold out!) and desserts on Saturday night, we were incredibly fortunate to have you looking after us all. Thank you for the care, effort, and generosity you put into making sure nobody went hungry.
We'd also like to thank Lilly for assisting Jennifer wherever possible. Your willingness to help out and lend a hand was greatly appreciated.
One of the main highlights of the weekend was seeing such a huge turnout of parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, friends, and supporters cheering on our riders from the sidelines. The encouragement and sense of community are what make our little club so special.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who lent a hand throughout the weekend. Our small club relies heavily on the support of our volunteers, and as the saying goes, "many hands make light work."
Congratulations to all of our riders on a fantastic weekend of learning, achievement, and fun. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you and can't wait to see what next month brings!
🐴 💚 We can't wait to see you all again in July!
