Today under a blue skies and a slight breeze twenty six players of various skill level took to the course, they took part in the Chris Georgiou building and total tools two person Ambrose. At the club at conclusion of play everyone had plenty of stories and laughs of the days events. Under an ever changing sky from sunny patches to skiffs of rain. Fifteen players took part in our sponsored streaky bay marine products Stableford comp. The sponsor thought the strong gusty winds would be harsh for our first stroke round. The club would again like to the Edmunds family for their yearly sponsorship of the club. Novelty one of the day was nearest to pin on hole 3/12 with a gusty side wind. The captain Andrew Atkinson was able to cast his first attempt to claim it. No one could get any better. The other novelties were second shot closer to pin on hole 8/17 for both divisions. Div two didn’t see any one claim it. Div one Wayne Daniel launched a low six iron into wind to have it roll just off the front of the green. No one did any better. Div two was won by ten gallon hat wearing Eugene with 38 points with John Flaherty close behind. Div one on a count back was won by Wayne Daniel with 37 points scored on 17 holes with Ian richter scoring the same number of points.

Sunday saw 15 players take to the course in the sponsor Stableford day, hosted by one of our sponsors from previous years Lijah Daniel of west coast refrigeration and air conditioning. The club would like to thank him for this. He brought along not only trophies but great golfing weather. But unfortunately there weren’t too many that made good scores.
Long drive on 5/14 went to Damon king. Nearest to pin on 3 went to the captain Andrew Atkinson. Nearest to pin on 6/15 Div 2 was Kevin Hendy. Winner of the day was the sponsor himself with 41 points closely followed by Wayne Daniel on 38 points. If only he scored on all the holes it would have been closer. Div 2 was won by John Flaherty with 34 points and being chased very closely by Kevin Hendy on 33 points.

Sunday being Mother’s Day saw a few members stay away from the course. In what was way better weather 14 players took part in the Captain versus President team day. There was mixed scores considering the days weather but one player, the president of the club made the most of it. He finally broke 100 off the stick to card 48 points. But when score was added to the new system he actually carded 49 points. Next nearest score was a 38 points who would normally take out the day.
Everyone enjoyed the day since it followed the Ambrose competition on the Saturday with the ladies of the club.
