Last week we wrapped up our judo program at the Statewide Vision Resource Centre (SVRC).
During Term 3, Yuki Judo introduced judo to four groups of blind and vision-impaired kids of all ages. They experienced a full class, wore a judo jacket (gi), learned safe falling techniques, and even had the chance to throw Sensei Clau with some amazing moves! 🥋💪
At the final session, Sensei Clau was honoured with a certificate of appreciation from the kids.
This was a fantastic experience, and we hope to be back in future years!
Yuki Judo classes are open for blind and vision-impaired kids and adults all year round.
Over the past six years, we’ve partnered with Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria and Vision Australia delivering many workshops and come & try sessions, and now we add SVRC to our allies to promote judo among blind and vision impaired people.
A big thank you for the opportunity — we look forward to welcoming more blind and vision-impaired participants onto the mats soon!
