STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
This week we played our second round of Championships. There was a little bit of excitement on the golf course as one group found a 5 foot brown snake on the course. This is the second sighting of snakes on our course so if you are out walking please be careful.
Winner of the men’s competition was Jack McDonald with a net 67
Winner of the ladies competition was Kerry Hewlett with a net 74
Line balls went to John Moore 71, Ryley McDonald 72, Shae Van der Schoor 73 and Brad Dunn 76.
Nearest the pin winners were Grant Pearce 4th, Christian Treloar 8th, Ryley McDonald 15th and Jack McDonald 17th
Putting was won by Nathan Macaulay with 25 putts
Straightest drive was won by Luke Winnell
Drive and pitch for the men’s was won by Ryley McDonald and ladies was won by Victoria Fry.

STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
This week Saturday 17th October, we held our annual three-person Ambrose event, sponsored by Rodwells and Drummonds Golf. The gorgeous weather made it a perfect day for golf. We had 63 people playing today.
Thank you to everyone that prepared the course – Ria, Grant, James, Mick, Phil, Vic, Kerry, Brent, Shae and Allan.
Thank you to Kristen for catering for everyone, phil rounds on the bbq, drinks cart and bar.
Scratch winners with a great score of 15 under 57 was Ryley Mcdonald, Jack Mcdonald and
Cameron Langsford.
Runner up winners of scratch was Hayden Kneebone, Daniel Adem and James Faram with a score of 58
Handicap winners were Robert Dundas, Stebe McMahon and Dainr de Jager with a score of 56.2
Runner up winners of handicap were Kirk Dalziell, Mark James, Jordan Crawford with a score of 58.17
Nearest the pin winners on the 4th Freddie Heath, on the 8th Cameron Langsford, on the 15th Grant Pearce and on the 17th Jasent Miller.
Line Balls were won by

Everyone absolutely had a great time and the golf scores certainly showed that.

Sunday 18th October we held our annual men’s 18 hole tournament.
Another great day for playing golf at Strathbogie, 48 men attending the day.

Winner of the A grade scratch was Jeremy Rath with a score of 73, with a 3 way playoff being held.

We played stroke on the 12th September and 1st round of championships, thanks to everyone that prepared the course this week.
Winner of the men’s competition was John Moore with a net score of 67
Winner of the ladies competition was Bec Newham with a net score of 73
Line balls were won by Nathan Macaulay, Jack McDonald, Kerry Hewlett and Anthony Newham.
Nearest the pin winners were on the 4th Phil Fry, on the 8th Christian Treloar, on the 15th Ryley McDonald and on the 17th Jack McDonald
Drive and pitch winner was Nathan Macaulay for the men and for the ladies Bec Newham.
Kerry Hewlett won the straightest drive.
Nathan Macaulay won the putting with 27 putts on a countback from John Moore
Also please note that the 2nd round of championships will be moved due to the greens being cored and scarified on the 14th of September. To be advised for a new date for rescheduling this round,

STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
We played stroke and Monthly Medal this week 5th September. 10 brave members played golf today, being 7 men and 3 ladies. They nearly made it but on the second to last hole, the rain came and absolutely drenched them. The course still played very well with an inch of rain on it, only a few wet patches.
Winner of the men’s competition and Monthly Medal was Luke Winnell
Line balls were won by Christian Treloar and Phil Fry.
Nearest the pin winners were on the 4th Luke Winnell and on the 17th Phil Fry
Drive and pitch winner was Jack McDonald for the men.
Phil Fry won the straightest drive.
John Moore won the putting with 27 putts on a count back from Phil Fry. Someone without naming names had 6 putts on the 12th hole.
Next week we are playing stroke and it’s the first round of our Club’s Championships.
Also please note that the 2nd round of championships will be moved due to the greens being cored and scarified on the 14th of September. To be advised for a new date for rescheduling this round,

STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
We played stableford this week. With a much smaller field than last week, many of our members were away. The fairways are still a little wet from all the rain but overall the course played very well.
Winner of the day was Anthony Newham with a great score of 40 points. Some how he hit trees but the ball bounced back into the fairways. He must have had luck on his side.
Line balls were won by Peter Smith with 38 points and Visitor Mick Young with 34 points.
Nearest the pin winners were on the 8th Mick Dixey, on the 15th Mick Young and on the 17th Peter Smith.
Drive and pitch winners were Bec Newham for the ladies and Nathan Macaulay for the men.
Kevin Chenhall won the straightest drive.
Thank you everyone that attended our monthly dinner, a great time was had by everyone and thanks goes out to Peter Smith for making the desserts, Kerry Hewlett for all her support and help with getting these dinners done, Baz Taggart for doing the bar and John Moore for making the yummy cheesy cauliflower dish.

We played a three person ambrose event this week. And what a beautiful day it was, the sun was shining and the course was absolutely magnificent. Thanks goes out to the volunteers that mowed the course this week.
Winner of this week’s event were Mal Inglis, Grant Pearce and Peter Smith with a great score of 68 of the stick and 59.67 handicap
Runners up were Jack McDonald, Ryley McDonald and Cameron Langsford with a great score of 62 of the stick and 60.84 handicap

We played stableford this Saturday 18th July. The weather was absolutely perfect for winter golf and we would like to thank all the volunteers who cut the course this week. And would like to thank our wood cutters this week too, they have done a great job cutting and delivering wood.
Winner of the men’s competition was Shae Van der Schoor with a score of 36 points
Winner of the Ladies competition was Rebecca Newham with a score of 35 points. The handicapper has to catch up with her soon. It’s great to see the competitive nature between some husband and wife teams. They love competing against each other week after week, seeing which one beats the other one

STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
We played stableford and the last round of the Wally Dunn Trophy. The competition was very hot between several players to find out who the winner of the trophy was.

Congratulations goes to the Ladies winner Rebecca Newham and the men’s winner Kevin Chenhall.

Thanks goes out to both Greg Roberts for grading the driveway and path down the 18th, and Bill Lawrence for all the stick raking he did on Thursday. Lots of pile of sticks were burnt on Friday, in the clean up process for our tournament this week
