STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
We played stableford this week. With a much smaller field than last week, many of our members were away. The fairways are still a little wet from all the rain but overall the course played very well.
Winner of the day was Anthony Newham with a great score of 40 points. Some how he hit trees but the ball bounced back into the fairways. He must have had luck on his side.
Line balls were won by Peter Smith with 38 points and Visitor Mick Young with 34 points.
Nearest the pin winners were on the 8th Mick Dixey, on the 15th Mick Young and on the 17th Peter Smith.
Drive and pitch winners were Bec Newham for the ladies and Nathan Macaulay for the men.
Kevin Chenhall won the straightest drive.
Thank you everyone that attended our monthly dinner, a great time was had by everyone and thanks goes out to Peter Smith for making the desserts, Kerry Hewlett for all her support and help with getting these dinners done, Baz Taggart for doing the bar and John Moore for making the yummy cheesy cauliflower dish.

STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
We played a three person ambrose event this week. And what a beautiful day it was, the sun was shining and the course was absolutely magnificent. Thanks goes out to the volunteers that mowed the course this week.
Winner of this week’s event were Mal Inglis, Grant Pearce and Peter Smith with a great score of 68 of the stick and 59.67 handicap
Runners up were Jack McDonald, Ryley McDonald and Cameron Langsford with a great score of 62 of the stick and 60.84 handicap

STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
We played stableford this Saturday 18th July. The weather was absolutely perfect for winter golf and we would like to thank all the volunteers who cut the course this week. And would like to thank our wood cutters this week too, they have done a great job cutting and delivering wood.
Winner of the men’s competition was Shae Van der Schoor with a score of 36 points
Winner of the Ladies competition was Rebecca Newham with a score of 35 points. The handicapper has to catch up with her soon. It’s great to see the competitive nature between some husband and wife teams. They love competing against each other week after week, seeing which one beats the other one

STRATHBOGIE GOLF NOTES
We played stableford and the last round of the Wally Dunn Trophy. The competition was very hot between several players to find out who the winner of the trophy was.

Congratulations goes to the Ladies winner Rebecca Newham and the men’s winner Kevin Chenhall.

Thanks goes out to both Greg Roberts for grading the driveway and path down the 18th, and Bill Lawrence for all the stick raking he did on Thursday. Lots of pile of sticks were burnt on Friday, in the clean up process for our tournament this week

We played stroke and Monthly Medal this Saturday 2nd May. And it was also the first round of the Gary Hewlett Medley Trophy.
Hopefully it rains tomorrow we really need it. There was lots of fun with the groups this week. Several of them had interesting adventures on the course. But the motto is what happens on the course stays on the course.
Winner of the men’s competition and Monthly Medal was Phil Fry with a score of nett 71
Winner of the Ladies competition was Bec Newham with a score of nett 73 – the handicapper will catch up with her soon.

We played stableford and the men played off the red tees. And this time they managed to play them very well beating the girls by a long mile.
We started presentations with wishing our captain a very happy birthday.
Also this week we farewell Jim McAlister, hope his new ventures goes well. We thank him for all the work he and Catherine have done on the golf course, you will be sorely missed.
Winner of the men’s competition was Ant Newham with 37 points. He travelled the golf course playing on many different fairways, and occasionally playing the same fairways as his partners
Winner of the Ladies competition was Vic Fry with 31 points
