July was a big month for the Glen Innes CTC as we celebrated 60 years of our club!
Saturday started with Farners side by side event with 19 shooters having a crack at this event. Thanks to Greg (Farmer) Burey for hosting this event each year. Farmer himself, Allan Dowley & Charlie Ward were the winners for this novelty event!
The monthly program then followed on, starting with 25T Point Score C/D with 8 place getters with the second event being a 25T Double Barrel C/D with 10 place getters.
Our last event for the day was the 50T Single Barrel Club Championship. After a couple of shoot offs the place getters were confirmed; Open: John Lisle 53/56, AA Grade: David Edmonds 51/55, A Grade: Robert Reeves 52/56, B Grade: John Clark 45/50 & C Grade: Neil Parker 40/51.
The overall high gun for the day, taking home the silver spoon sponsored by the Mactaggart Family went to Charlie Ward,
Following the days program members and ex-members stayed on in the warm club house for some delicious home made pots for dinner and a few drinks.
Our Lucky Shooter sponsored by Neale Smith each month was Troy Adams, the raffles went to Sam Scalia, John Lisel & Laura Chard, and the monthly encouragement went to Dave Mosman.
Continuing the clubs history and celebrations it was only fitting that the club recognise the longest standing Secretary of 10 years duty, Tracey Larkings. Traceys dedication, commitment, support and friendship over the years is well recognised and seen around the traps. We thank Tracey for her time in the office and her hard work she put into our club!
The history books were brought out - some reminiscing, some learning.
We were very grateful to have club patrons able to all join us on the day; David Robertson-Cuningham, Don Macansh & Harvey Young. These men were amongst the founding members of our club and today still support us greatly.
Thank you to all who attending either the raffles or the club over the weekend and celebrated with members!
We will see you on 1st August 2026 for our next monthly shoot.
