Stansbury continue to provide more 'winter winners' on the bowling circuit!!!

Congratulations to Phil and Sue-ellen on an impressive 3rd place today at Coomealla. Hope we don't come up against you in the first round of the Mixed Pairs this year!!

Meanwhile back at the club, upgrades continue. Today Salter Quality Kitchens installed our new "Afternoon Tea" cupboard. Vermon proof and user-friendly...thanks Nathan, Nash and boys for your wonderful service👌👍😀

The bar will be CLOSED THIS FRIDAY, 28TH AUGUST. It is the first time this winter we have closed, as all our bar volunteers are off chasing bowls games in the Riverland, or have other very good excuses!!!
The greens are still open for a roll 7 days a week, so enjoy if you can.
Reminder that our 10 Year Synthetic Green Celebration is on Sunday 27th September. Anyone and everyone is invited to help us celebrate 🥳🥂😀

An enormous CONGRATULATIONS to Malcolm Williams on becoming the SA Police Bowling SINGLES champion for 2026, played at Wallaroo.
When interviewed, Malcolm said "Sometimes flukes happen. I played 5 games from 8.30 to 5.30. The final went 27 ends. I was lucky to beat players from Willunga, Marion, Paskeville, Port Lincoln and Millswood. Trophy big enough for Wimbledon"
A fine example that practice does pay off.

Still winter but our members are busy getting themselves in form and all tuned up ready for the new season. Today @ Renmark Grant, Karyn, Trent (former gun junior from Stansbury) and Les were runners-up. Bowlaholics, Helen and Malcolm, have won quite a few $$$ at various NT tournaments in the past month as they prepare for Police comps at Wallaroo next weekend.
Meanwhile back at the club winter jobs continue to be ticked off the list as Trevor attacks the rust on the entry gate!

As almost everyone is aware our beautiful Keith and his gorgeous wife Val are leaving the town for retirement living to be closer to family. Next Friday (7th August...normal drinks time 4.30pm til 7.00pm) everyone is invited to the bowling club to say farewell from Stansbury. The club will be providing a few nibbles but please bring your favourite story to share about Keith and/or Val. It will just be a casual affair so please spread the word around town that everyone is welcome 👋👋😢😍😃

Friday night is almost with us again! The pumpkin soup is made and Shirley is making a pot of pea and ham soup to give you a choice. M & M (that's Margie and Mick) are making savoury toast and soda bread to fill your tummies and then there may or may not be something sweet to finish off the meal!!😁
Cost will be $5.00 to cover costs PLUS a small donation to RFDS. No need to book, just turn up and enjoy warm food and a warm room😃

Half way through winter already...they say time goes faster when you get older and that seems
definitely to be the case!
Tonight we were blessed to be joined by a fun loving group of "oldies" from Whyalla who chose beautiful Stansbury for a getaway with friends. They played bowls until the sun went down and then used their phone torches to finish their game! The cold didn't bother them as their tummies were warmed by our amazing cocktails 🍸🍷🍹Enjoy your golf tomorrow and dining at the Dal and we hope to see you back later in the year🎇🎆🥂😀
