Now it is time for our hard working volunteers to go into winter mode and catch up on all their home jobs, get their knee/hip/shoulder surgery and for some to travel OS, interstate or just enjoy the local area.

Our bar will be open on Friday night from 4.30pm until 7.00pm from now until the end of September (subject to availability of volunteers). Members, locals and visitors to our beautiful town are welcome. Please feel free to bring nibbles or snacks if desired.

Our greens are fantastic, fabulous and magnificent through winter so please take advantage and practice your heart out! A donation from non-members is appreciated.

Congratulations to Jayden Zeller on winning the State Men's Triples earlier this week. Jayden began his bowls as a wee little boy in Stansbury and it makes us very proud to see the level he has taken his bowls to...it is not just an old people's game!

Today our Div 1 Women were defeated by a better Minlaton team on the day. 2 rinks up, 2 rinks down and down by 13 overall. Congratulations to Minlaton, enjoy your celebrations.

On a brighter note our Div 2 Women's team made it back-to-back Premierships by defeating Minlaton by 9 shots. Wonderful leadership by Kathy, taking on the role of Skipper and inspiring her team to bring their very best to the greens today🏆🥇👏😘

Congratulations to Steve on winning the Men's Singles Championship this afternoon defeating Mark in a game of two halves. After being 13-2 down, Steve changed the length of the ends by bringing the mat up and kept his nerve to win 21-18....his last bowl saving the game!🥇

Another couple of big days @ Stansbury Bowling Club!
Yesterday both of our Women's teams rolled their way into Grand Finals, to be played at Port Victoria on Thursday 19th March. In beautiful March weather the Div 1 girls defeated Port Vincent and the Div 2 team defeated Minlaton.
Today 3 x Club Championship games were played. Jennie kicked off the day defeating Helen in the Singles, in a very close game. Sue and Arnie defeated Chris and Karyn in the Pairs, coming from behind (again!) to win by just 2 shots after 15 ends. In the afternoon Les and Cooky defeated Des and Malcolm J in a game that saw some wonderful draw bowling and very close heads. Well done everyone. Just the Men's Singles to go...Mark v Steve on Monday afternoon. 😃

Everything is prepared, even the weather, for the SYP WOMEN'S 1st and 2nd Semi Finals to be played at Stansbury today.

Yesterday will remain a memorable Grand Final day for many reasons. With all three Open Pennant teams making it to the most important match of the season, the weather forecast was causing a lot of anxiety for players and SYPBA administrators. Ultimately, despite 20mm overnight on the Port Victoria greens, all games were played...much of it in drizzle and on a very heavy green.
Our Division 1 team, undefeated all season, were beaten by a better Minlaton team on the day, who used the conditions to their advantage with their more aggressive game plan - making sure they were not short and having bowls behind the head! Congratulations Minlaton, a well deserved victory.
What a game the Div 2 ended up being. Our selectors once again got it right. Both teams in the GF and the game decided by the final bowl with Blue defeating Whites by 1 shot.
Well done everyone...it was a very long, wet day for you all.
Now we focus on the Women's finals, to be played at Stansbury this Thursday starting at 10.00am. Go girls😀

Whoohoo...the Wednesday Men's Pennant GF has been played and the boys made it back-to-back Premierships with a two shot win against a very good Warooka team. It went right down to the final end with each team winning one rink. Some amazing bowls and great sportsmanship throughout the afternoon, on beautifully prepared greens at Port Victoria. Final scores 35-33.
Now our attention is focused on tomorrow! With matches programmed for Port Victoria we will be watching the rain gauge to see what happens. If the greens are too wet to be used, matches will be transferred to Warooka. The call will be made at 7.00am as Div 3 are scheduled for 9.30am start. Div 1 play Minlaton and in Div 2 our Whites play our Blues starting at 1.30pm. 🤞🤞🤞all goes to plan.
Great work Div 1 and Div 2 Women. Both are minor premiers, so they get to play their finals at Stansbury next Thursday 👏👏👏😃

This week is going to be a big, big one for the Stansbury Bowling Club players! We kick off on Wednesday at Port Victoria with our Midweek Men's team playing Warooka in the Grand Final. On Thursday our two Ladies teams play their final games for the season against Yorketown and Port Vincent. Both are guaranteed top position so we'll 🤞🤞🤞as they head into finals.
Then on Saturday it is Open Pennants Grand Finals (hope it doesn't rain😀). In Div 1 we have a rematch against Minlaton, this time at Port Victoria and our two Div 2 teams play off for the shield at a venue to be announced.
The bar will be open this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons....usually about 4.30pm until around 7.00pm. Come on down and cheer on the players...we know that at least one premiership will be coming our way this week!

A fun Sunday afternoon for a few of us when about 17 workers from INROADS ( road upgrading company from Victoria) enjoyed our facilities for a BBQ and a shot at playing bowls! Quite a bit of talent was evident, so let's hope the experience results in some of them taking up the game in the future😃
Finals are with us. Best of luck to the Wednesday Men this week at Port Victoria and on Saturday the Open Div 1 and Div 2 White
playing at Stansbury and Div 2 Blue at Warooka.
NO FRIDAY NIGHT MEALS, as we start finals, but the bar will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from about 4.30pm for a couple of hours to members and the general public😃
