2026 BRISBANE OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS WRAP UP

What a day for United at Lake Coolum!

Our swimmers took on the open water and delivered some fantastic results, with every single United swimmer finishing inside the Top 20 in their respective age category!

🏆 Aidan — 🥇 12yrs 2.5km Brisbane Champion
🏆 Emerson — 🥇 13yrs 1.25km Brisbane Champion
🥈 Asher — 12yrs 2.5km
🥈 Avery — 13yrs 5km
🥉 Lillian — 13yrs 1.25km

From first-time open water swimmers to our more experienced racers, we loved seeing everyone get out there, take on the challenge and give it their best.

A wonderful day at Lake Coolum, some brilliant racing and plenty for United to celebrate.

Congratulations to all 19 of our swimmers — you represented United beautifully!

Open Water ready!

A 19-swimmer strong United squad is nominated and ready to take on the Brisbane Open Water Championships this Saturday at Lake Coolum!

With swimmers tackling a range of distances, everyone is prepared to get out there and give it their best.

Our coaches have been preparing the squad over the past few weeks, with the final practice this afternoon looking a little different — lane ropes out, buoys in and some open water practice in the pool!

A big thank you to our coaches for making sure the squad is ready for race day.

Bringing together some of Queensland’s best 9–12-year-old swimmers from Brisbane and Wide Bay, this is a fantastic opportunity to race, develop and represent United.

Swimming Queensland Development Squad

A huge congratulations to Avery and Fynn, who have both been selected for the Swimming Queensland Junior Development Squad for 2026–27!

Selection recognises swimmers performing at a high level and showing strong potential within the Queensland swimming pathway — a fantastic achievement and reward for the hard work these two put in week after week.

We are incredibly proud to have two United swimmers recognised at this level, and it is also a great reflection of the program Head Coach Kirk Taylor continues to build at United.

Our competitive swimmers have kicked off the Long Course season with a fantastic meet at the Albany Creek Transition Meet! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Lots of PBs, big smiles and great racing to start the season! 💪👏

Queensland Short Course Championships Wrap-Up!

What a fantastic weekend for United at the Queensland Short Course Championships!

We had 11 swimmers proudly representing United, with plenty of PBs, some brilliant racing and lots of Top 10 finishes against Queensland’s best.

A special shout-out to Ella, who came home with two Queensland medals:
🥈 2nd – 200m Backstroke
🥉 3rd Queenslander – 50m Freestyle

Congratulations to all 11 of our swimmers — we are so proud of the way you raced, supported each other and represented United throughout the weekend.

A big congratulations to all of our swimmers who represented United Swimming Club at the Brisbane Junior Short Course Championships last weekend.

Every swimmer should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Across the weekend we saw plenty of personal bests, top 10 finishes and a total of 8 podium finishes:

Asher: 🥉400m freestyle
Tilly: 🥇50m freestyle, 🥈50m back
Harper: 🥉50m breast
Max: 🥈50m back
Lily: 🥈50m breast, 🥉100m IM, 🥉200m freestyle
