⚾️ Saints Seniors round up ⚾️

Division 6
St Mary’s 9 v Penrith 8

Today was old boys day going into game we were down some troopers making the average age on the diamond of 45yrs old

Starting with brad warner old boy himself caught Lee walsh , Penrith got out to a good start getting 5 runs in first , then the team flicked the switch getting some good outs from Troy Garret & Troy king
We chipped away at the lead each innings
Some great banter between teams to take the focus of the umpire if you know what I mean
Daniel Robertson / phil ried collected multiple hits at the right times
Phil ried tried to score on centre to be almost beheaded at home plate !

A big thank you to Rob Hancock you were outstanding

Adam German thank you for your support being injured but still being there for the team

Thanks Yvonne for scoring you're amazing

Divison 8 Smith match report
Score 10 to 1

We were at home this week against Plumpton Mohawks. It was a great game where everything just came together. Our fielding and batting was was top notch!

Nick Simpson thought he was Ohtani and put on a pitching master class, 4 innings, 44 pitches, 1 hit and no runs.

Everyone did their job at the plate with all our players getting on base. Aaron Merritt was our best batter was 3 safe hits. First game in a long time that Dylan Maxwell did not get hit by the pitch.

Our fielding was on point with no errors, which is rare for us! Usually the red pen gets a workout! Noah Andia-Slarke took 2 great catches in left field and Glen Robertson taking a pop up catch at home to get the batter out. Special mention to our little Mexican Rob Sultana who had a great game at 2nd base with a beautiful 4 to 3 to get the batter out.
Massive thank you to Shane Welsh for coming down to umpire. Next week we take on Penrith at Penrith.

⚾ DIVISION 8 WRAY MATCH REPORT ⚾

Div 8 Wray came away with a 13-8 win over Rouse Hill after a hard-fought game that took a few innings for us to settle into.

We scored our first run in the opening inning when Nathan took advantage of a pick-off error at third and crossed the plate. In the field, we kept Rouse Hill scoreless thanks to a great double play from Nathan at shortstop, tagging a runner heading to third before recording the out at second.

We struggled to get the bats going early and found ourselves trailing 3-1 after two innings. We improved in the third, putting four runs on the board, but an inside-the-park home run from Rouse Hill brought in three runs and we still trailed 6-5 after three innings.

To our credit, the team stayed patient and kept competing. A pitching change from Rouse Hill saw us work some good at-bats, with several walks and hit batters helping us put together a seven-run fifth inning to take a 12-6 lead.

David gave us a terrific effort on the mound, pitching the first four innings and keeping us in the contest while we worked our way into the game. Caleb then came on in relief and closed things out, with Rouse Hill scoring two late runs before the Saints secured a 13-8 victory.

There were also some important defensive plays throughout the game. Joel and PJ both took good catches in the outfield, while Caleb and Nathan made key plays in the infield to help keep Rouse Hill’s scoring in check. Josh also deserves a mention, battling through the game and putting together some quality at-bats despite playing on one leg.

It certainly wasn’t our cleanest performance, but the team showed plenty of resilience, stuck together and found a way to get the job done.

⚾️ Saturday means one thing… Saints Baseball! ⚾️
Another big day of games is on this weekend, and we’d love to see plenty of green and white around the diamonds.
Our players have been training hard, our coaches are ready, and now we need our loudest supporters to bring the energy from the sidelines👏
So grab a coffee, bring a chair, and settle in for a great day of baseball with the Saints family.
Let’s make some noise for our teams this Saturday!

Game Report St Mary’s 6th grade
St Mary’s 7 to Blue mountains 4

When arrived the first thing I heard was Daniel Robertson tried to eat dirt !!! The second was Andrew Loosemore hit a bomb 💣 being the coach I didn’t see it so it didn’t happen lol
The game was tense Brad Warner was throwing great on the hill ! Time to give the big game a rest next week
The game was played at a good level , both teams turning double plays as well as Travis Whittaker making up a huge amount of ground to take a great catch
Thank you to david loader & Troy king for umpiring both games

DIVISION 8 SMITH v MACKILLOP
SCORE 9 TO 8
Div 8 Smith headed to Chapman Gardens to take on the undefeated Mackillop team. We knew it was going to be tough but we played really well. We were pretty much level after each innings.
Dylan Maxwell continued his run of being a ball magnet and once again was hit by the pitch at the top of the 2nd. Rob Sultana also became a magnet and also got hit.
We were good with the bat with most getting hits. Greg Smith 3 massive hits to centre field but all landed in his glove. Hits to Robert Slarke, Matt Simpson, Dylan Maxwell, Chris Campbell.
We were quick on our feet and stole 21 times with Chris Campbell stealing home twice and Steve Keast once.
Great pitching by Greg Smith and Nick Simpson coming onto close. Nick had a successful pick off to his dad Matt, getting their runner out at 1st.
Our fielding was pretty good with Aaron Merritt taking a great catch in center field. Wayne Stewart wanted to show Mackillop how good he was and filled in for them taking a difficult catch in left field!
At 72 your body starts to struggle, Burto's calf giving him trouble. Is it time to hang up the cleats?
The game came down to the last innings, Mackillop needing 2 runs to win and unfortunately for us they got the runs in a walk off 2 run hit and won the game.
Next week we are at home at 2.45pm so if you are not doing anything come down and cheer us on!

St Mary’s Baseball Club | Division 10
Saturday 13th June 2026 | Monfarville Baseball Complex
St Mary’s v Holroyd Giants

What a great game at Monfarville on Saturday! The Giants came away with the win 19-9, but our Division 10 side gave them a real fight and showed plenty to be proud of.

St Mary’s came out firing with some great fielding and pitching, holding the Giants to just 2 runs in the opening innings. Div10’s bats responded and sent three across the plate.

Dave was rock solid on the mound, throwing 2 strong innings before Daniel stepped up to close out the final 2.
Credit to the Giants, who pulled together some sharp defence with some deep outfield catches and quick plays on the infield. They found their rhythm at the plate in the third, hitting the gaps to push 7 runs across.

But the highlights for St Mary’s kept coming. Angie was outstanding at third base, showing fast feet to turn a force play and get the out. Rebecca held things down beautifully at first and the hustle award for the week goes to Grant in left field, covering heaps of ground and returning the ball quickly and hold the Giants on base.

Tough result on the day, but the effort and teamwork never dropped. It’s always a great day facing the Giants.

⚾️Saints Seniors Round Up!⚾️
⚾️Div 8: Saints v Saints
It was the battle of the 2 St Marys Division 8 teams. Both teams were left short with players out for the long weekend. The score remained very close throughout the innings. The turning point of the game was when Josh Payne's amazing diving catch in the outfield was denied by the umpire. Highlights of the match:
* Stand up triple by Dylan Maxwell
* Decent pitching by all pitchers - Aaron Merritt, Rob Slarke, Dave Napier and Shane Fowler.
It was a close game but it was the fielding errors in the end which got St Marys Smith the win. Score 13 to 9
Huge congratulations to Joel and Sarah Boulter on the new addition to the Saints family, a beautiful baby girl 🩷

⚾Div 10:
The St Mary's Saints produced a remarkable comeback victory on the weekend, overcoming an early 6-2 deficit to defeat the Mt Druitt Lions 11-6 at PVH.
The Lions came out swinging and built a strong lead through the opening two innings, but the Saints refused to back down. The momentum began to shift with a brilliant solo double play at second base from Rob, followed by an outstanding catch from Michelle, who held onto a difficult fly ball while staring directly into the afternoon sun. Strong support from the outfield helped keep runners stranded and prevented the Lions from extending their lead.
On the mound, Dave delivered two solid innings to keep the Saints within striking distance before handing the ball to Dan. In a dominant display, Dan shut down the Lions in the fifth inning, striking out three batters from just 11 pitches to help seal the victory.
The Saints' bats came alive when it mattered most. Dan and Rob both collected doubles, while Kiah impressed on both sides of the ball with a strong effort at first base before stealing second base with determination and speed. Riley, Amy and Nathan also showed tremendous courage at the plate, each wearing a hit-by-pitch to get on base and keep the pressure on the Lions. Dave demonstrated plenty of endurance, powering around the bases to score after an impressive three-base run.
Michelle played a crucial role in the comeback, advancing two runners in the fourth inning and helping bring the Saints within touching distance of the lead.
The game was ultimately decided by a huge fifth inning from St Mary's, with six runs crossing the plate to complete the comeback and secure an 11-6 victory.
A fantastic team effort from everyone involved and another great example of the Saints fighting spirit. Well done Saints! ⚾

⚾️Div 6:
