Recently I received the devastating news that one of our original members Jake Biddick passed away. After a long battle with cancer, Jake suddenly passed on Sunday 26th March 2023. He was only 28 years old.
Jake proudly served his country through various roles with the Navy. Along with his compulsory work based training regime, he also trained on and off with us at The Gym over several years. Wanting to be as strong and healthy as he could during his fight with cancer, he continued to train through surgeries and treatments.
Jake was the most welcoming, friendly, intelligent and kind hearted human you could ever meet. He loved cars, motorbikes, camping and looking after his health. He would come to the gym an hour before class to do his mobility work and he always followed my instructions to the letter. He lived his life with such honour and integrity and was wise beyond his years.
He leaves behind his lovely wife Ashley ._.louise who also trained with us from time to time. Our love and thoughts go out to Ash and both her and Jakes families.
Right until the end, Jake took part in many melanoma research studies and trials in the hopes that even if it would not benefit him, he would be a part of helping to save others. The link to make a donation to the Melanoma institute in Jakes name, will be in our bio for the next couple of weeks.
Jakes funeral will be held at 2.30pm on Wednesday 12th April 2023 at Centennial Park Cemetery Chapel Complex in Adelaide, South Australia. As I’m unable to attend I will be watching via live stream, please reach out to me privately if you would like the link so I can request permission from the family to share it with you.
Jake will be sadly missed by gym members that knew him, he certainly impacted my life in the most positive way and I’ll remember him fondly for the rest of my life!
Missy ❤️
