What a weekend.. Two swordfish, one tagged and released, the other hooked in the tail and unfortunately didn’t make it, going 160kg cleaned and Adam Beattie’s first ever. Bittersweet, but a special moment. Ticked off our first yellowfin tuna at 59kg, then capped it off by tagging and releasing a marlin. How good is the east coast of Tassie? 🔥🐟

We recently fished in the Game Fishing Club of Northern Tasmania billfish tournament that ran from the 12th to the 20th of April where each team could fish for a maximum of 3 days. With a bad moon phase and some unfavourable weather it was definitely a grind! Pulling the hook on the first couple of fish definitely left us a tad frustrated. On the last day we made a decision to look for some new bottom in hope of finding some more bait and less current and it paid off! We came tight on this 120kg healthy sword that give us a dog fight! We had our mate Jacob Leno on the rod who has been wanting to catch one of these fish for years so we are happy we could make that happen for him and to top things off this fish ended up getting us the win for the heaviest swordfish weighed in!! 🏆👏 Meridian Tackle Mercury Marine Australia & New Zealand Kilwell Sports Stormy Lifejackets Garmin Marine Tackle World Australia Deegan Marine Predator Tackle
