Gundy 500
Just another what could have been for the #699!

An unfortunate incident put our good mates Conroy Devine & Rob out early. We were ready to go to battle for the class win! Always next time boys wish you both a speedy recovery!

Racing Sunday started and we put some cracking laps in staying consistent and putting ourself in the fight for 3rd outright! Unfortunately all good things must come to an end! Just 15kms shy of a Gundy 500 finish we took a big hit snapping our steering rack ultimately leaving us on the side of the track!

Absolutely gutted the car was so strong all weekend!

Massive shoutout to Nick Pye for putting the WatersMotorsports prepped Mav R P2 in class very calculated drive in the dust! 👏🏻

Thanks to dad for prepping me an extremely strong car that allowed us to run up the pointy end with some big names all weekend we will bring a result home shortly💪🏻 very frustrating seeing the work being put in to have small dramas put us on the side of the track, But that’s racing!

Not the post we wanted to make
The whole team is devastated!

After starting in the top 20 yesterday we had made 2 passes by the 50km mark! Everything was working perfect the car was a rocket in the rough! Around the 80km mark we had a small issue out of our control that we decided to nurse into Finke.

Everything sorted we were ready to charge from the back through the dust as hard as we could, on the last oil change on the rear diff we found a significant amount of metal. So we made the call to put it on the trailer rather than being stuck on the side of the track.

Thanks to Dad for the weeks spent in the shed making sure we had an extremely fast car!

Thanks to my wife for backing me and all the time she has spent at home with our little boy as we prepped for this!

WatersMotorsports with a stellar prologue run, placing them 2nd in class heading into the section down to Finke tomorrow, the boys are confident in the can-ams ability to handle the rough on the way down!

Successful weekend for the Waters Motorsport team at Sunraysia Motor Sports Club Pooncarie Desert Dash!

Mikes Shock Shop Tuned Kings shocks were next level as the track deteriorated!

Method Race Wheels ANZ wrapped with Tensor Tire gave us all the traction to pull out of those Deep silt corners!

Massive thank to dad for the car he build to run in the top 10 outright all weekend is a testament to the strength and quality of prep that goes into it.

Thanks to Luke for coming down and ensuring the car was ready for the next brutal 105km lap.

All eyes on the Finke Desert now the car will have a full prep and be off to Finke in 6 weeks time!

The Gundy 250 that could have been!

Starting off with a solid P4 outright in prologue. We drew the short straw with the outside lane every start, battling dust all day Saturday but held our position.

Sunday morning we were 12 seconds behind 3rd outright, pushed hard right to the corner to make the pass for p3 and a dust free track. Unfortunately came into the corner together showed him the tire as we turned and he came across tight infront of us cause us to get tangled. Lost 10mins to the incident. Last section for the day we started down the order due too so much time lost. We got the jump and had a relatively dust free run catching a couple cars. We put down the second quickest lap time from all competitors for the weekend with a 13.05🔥 was good to show what we finally could do with some clean air.

Going quickest lap for the last section when the track was at its toughest is a credit to the car dad built, prepped and the unreal brands we work with.
