A brief history of The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Centre and Heatherton United Soccer Club
The Bosnia & Herzegovina Centre Springvale was established in 1993, and soon became a focal point for newly arrived migrants to the South-East of Melbourne. In 1994 members of the Bosnian community purchased a block of land at 482 Springvale Rd, Springvale. We are proud to own these facilities: now consisting o
f the hall with ample parking space, the canteen, two soccer pitches with lights, etc. Football (Soccer) has always been our passion and many club’s activities revolve around the world game. The first team was formed in 1994.
1995 - 1997
Heatherton United Soccer Club competed in the Amateur League, and started its progress to higher leagues.
1998 - 2002
Winning Provisional Leagues (3, 2 and 1), getting promoted to State 3SE.
2003 - 2006
Heatherton United competed in State 3, and in 2006 convincingly won promotion to State 2SE (11 points above the second placed team).
2007
First time in State 2, as 10th team relegated after one season.
2008
As a runner up in State 3, promoted again to State 2SE

Tournaments
Heatherton United participated in all Victorian and Australian tournaments organised annually by the Bosnian community. It is the most successful Bosnian run club in Australia, winning 10 out of 21 tournaments so far. Some results are available at OZ Football web site
