Reminder for Golf - Sunday the 6th of September.

This Sunday we are playing an 18 Hole Stableford Event sponsored by the Springsure Country Golf Club Inc.

The Virgin Cup was due to be played, but has been put off until later in the year.

Tee off is Midday with NAMES IN BY 11.30am. If you are going to be late, let the Captains know early.

Social golf (9 holes) is on Saturday afternoon, from about 3ish.

A few weeks ago we posted that we have replaced our tee signs.

We really appreciate all those who sponsored a sign, so we are going to start a weekly shout out to them.

We are starting at Number 1 and wish to thank Springsure Overlander Motel, Bar and Restaurant for their ship - if you haven't called in for dinner there yet, please call in. A couple of members dined there last week and were very impressed.

Call in and see Michael and his team and get the Garlic Bread with Bacon and Cheese!

Results for Golf - Sunday the 30th of August.

Today we played an 18 Hole Stroke Event sponsored by Jess and James O'Keeffe - We appreciate your sponsorship.

It was a stunning day for golf today with the temps starting to increase - the course could really use some rain.

Mens winners today was latecomer, Ross Kajewsksi with a 69 nett. Runner up was Graham Cullen with a 71 nett. There was a swag of players on 72 nett, but an outright 3rd on a count back, was Alan Stevenson.

Ladies winners were Cassey Cosgrove with a 71 nett from Trudi Sullivan with a 75 nett.

Ross Kajewski picked up the Foot & Barrett Mitre 10 Pin shot on 9/18 with the Haymans Electrical Emerald 2nd shot on Number 6, going to Steven Cullen (who beat his mother by 15cm!). Well done and thanks to the sponsors.

Steven picked up another Eagle 🦅 today on Number 11- it was a pleasure to watch him play today.

Quite a few struggled today, as shown in some photos attached 😁

Next week, we will be playing an 18 Hole Stableford Event, sponsored by Springsure Country Golf Club Inc. - the Virgin Cup (a Two Day Event played between Springsure and Emerald Golf Club - where two teams play at Emerald one day and Springsure the next) will be played later in the year.

Results for Golf - Sunday the 23rd of August.

Today we played the Springsure Country Golf Club Inc. 4 Ball Best Ball Championship. Today's event was made possible with the kind sponsorship of Farm and Construction Products Emerald - We appreciate your sponsorship.

It was a stunning day for golf today and our greens and surrounds were superb.

Mens winners today was the team of Don Orford and Dave Patrick on a count back from Kevin OKeeffe and Colin Cutting. Both teams carded a 63 nett. 3rd place went to Dallas Okeeffe and Matt Mahady with a 65 nett. A big thanks to Tamika O'Keeffe for the snacks today - we really appreciate your cooking!

Ladies winners were Rhonda Cullen and Jean Kahler from Carmel O'Keeffe and Cassey Cosgrove.

Dylan Mayne picked up the Foot & Barrett Mitre 10 Pin shot on 9/18 with the Haymans Electrical Emerald 2nd shot on Number 6, going to Cameron Smoothy. Well done and thanks to the sponsors.

This is a partner event and you can choose your own partner. There will an overflow for those that don't have a handicap or partner.

Today we played an 18 Hole Stroke Event, sponsored by Russell Willding - We appreciate your sponsorship.

We were down on numbers due to a dozen or so members playing at Capella Golf Club and a great day had by everyone. Other highlights from Sunday was a visit by former member and great friend of the club, Owen Kirk - please come back to visit soon.

The Dansey Family were in attendance with Eli and Scott working towards getting their handicaps.

Now the results:

Mens winners today were Graham Cullen with a 69 nett, followed by Kevin OKeeffe, hot on his heels with a 70 nett.

Ladies winner was Jean Kahler (72 nett) from Cassey Cosgrove.
