π CLUB MEMBER OF THE YEAR - MEL
There are some people whose impact goes far beyond any title they hold. They are the people who quietly get things done, who step up whenever needed, and who help create the culture that makes a club successful both on and off the court. Mel embodies these qualities.
She has been a dedicated and valued member of our committee for many years. Mel's strong work ethic, friendly nature, and thoughtful approach to every challenge makes her someone that players, parents, volunteers, coaches, and fellow committee members all trust and respect.
What makes Mel's contribution even more remarkable is that she no longer has a child playing at our club. Yet her commitment to our success has never wavered. Mel's passion for grassroots netball and dedication to our community remain as strong as ever.
Over the years, Mel has worn more hats than most of us can count. Just this year she has taken on Vice President, Uniform Coordinator, Canteen Coordinator, Team Manager, also organising gala days and Bunnings BBQβs, and countless other roles that often go unseen. Whatever the task, whenever the club has needed support, Mel has been there.
Beyond our club, Mel regularly represents us at association meetings, safeguarding workshops, and community sporting forums, ensuring our club's voice is heard and that we continue to improve and develop for the benefit of our members.
And while her contribution is enormous, what many people will remember most is the way Mel does it. Always approachable. Always welcoming. Always ready with a warm smile and words of encouragement for players, families, and volunteers alike.
People like this are incredibly rare. They are the backbone of community sport and the reason clubs like ours can flourish. Volunteers like this truly are worth their weight in gold!
Congratulations Mel π₯
