A good blast from the past with relevance even till the present day, rest is important! Most don’t get enough of it and the only solution to the problem’s inadequate sleep present is to get more sleep, coffee is not the answer unfortunately 😢

I believe that everyone should feel comfortable and confident in any gym! You shouldn’t feel pressured, judged or worried as health, fitness and performance is a marathon, not a 100m race. Its not about how you start, it’s how you maintain the right things, build upon them to then finish strong!

Coming to the end of the year helps you reflect on the year that’s gone by. I believe this photo perfectly demonstrates how it went 🥰
I had the pleasure of helping everyone at this table we shared at Baja (carbs in front of a trainer don’t count anyway right??!!) and when my supportive partner organised a dinner to celebrate the year I was surprised that so many came 😃

Have a safe and great entry into the new year everyone

When was the last time you put some time into your recovery? I don’t mean sleeping or watching tv but actually putting aside time to purposefully relax and breath without distractions? It’s good to put time into recovery if you are serious about your health, an analogy I like to line this up is as such.

You decide to bake a chocolate cake and you pick a good reliable recipe for it. You buy the freshest eggs, high quality flour, even a fancy mixer but you use cheap, mediocre chocolate to mix in with the other ingredients. The cake that comes out might be ok, it might even taste alright and hit the spot but it could have been better, it could have been heavenly if you cared equally about all of the ingredients instead of some.

Training and exercise is like the above scenario, you can have a good plan, you could put in the effort in the gym but if you neglect things like nutrition, mindfulness or recovery you may as well accept a sub optimal result. So just like baking a cake, put thought into everything you involve, your body and mind will thank you later.

Osteoarthritis is quite prominent within the Australian population, nearing 2 million!! Approximately 1/13 people will or is suffering for this. Worried? Studies link resistance based exercise as the strongest, non medication based preventive treatment available! Suffering? From the arthritis foundation website it states- ‘exercise is considered the most effective, non-drug treatment for reducing pain and improving movement in patients with osteoarthritis’

Movement is truly medicine and if you want to feel and be better, reach out and see what a positive difference 60-90 minutes a week can make for you!

Got to see my girls on the water today (rowing)! It was cold 🥶 , it was early and most importantly it was informative as I’m taking over the St Peter’s S&C rowing role and can’t help if I don’t actually get out there and see it for myself! Other than the information gleaned from chatting to the girls and coaches the thing that topped it all off? The sight on the Brisbane river was beautiful and made it all worthwhile for me!

Can’t wait to invest my time, effort and knowledge into this program and see it pay off in the long run. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Look, if this is what you guys want? who am I to discourage…😂

On a more serious note, I can put all the effort, coaching and preparation into getting you where you need to be but at the end of the day, your success follows a rudimentary formula- effort in creates results outwards.

A service launched in Sydney today that allows “time-poor” clients to relax while personal trainers work out on their behalf. The new service, called Fitness 4 U, is designed for busy Sydneysiders …

When’s the last time you gave yourself some time off? I don’t mean time on the couch with the tv/phone (stimulates the brain) I mean time where you can switch off and let the brain just be off? It can be quite relaxing, leading to a better sense of calm and better recovery post work outs.

It’s harder to enter into a rest and digest state of mind if the mind is busy with silly videos or shows that might feel relaxing but are still making your Brain work when really it should be resting.

Still reading this? Give a like and then put the phone down for just a second, says so 🐶
