About Lake Macquarie Rugby Club
Located on the stunning shores of Lake Macquarie, our club is proud to be a cornerstone of rugby in the region. Senior Rugby:
We compete in the Central Coast Rugby Union, fielding 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade men’s teams in the Premier Rugby Competitions, along with a strong Premier Women’s team. Junior Rugby:
Our junior program is thriving, with teams from U

nder 7s through to Under 18s, plus dedicated girls’ teams in Under 13s, 15s, and 17s, competing in the Hunter Junior Rugby Union. Our Achievements:
Over the years, we’ve celebrated numerous trophies and premierships, and proudly seen players achieve representative honours for Newcastle, Country, NSW, and even Canada.

2026 will be one to remember, with ALL THREE of our Junior Girls teams taking out the Grand Final!

It was fantastic to see our senior girls sharing their experience, passing on a few tips and tricks, and most importantly, having plenty of fun and laughs with our Joeys. 🦘💛

A massive congratulations to the boys on an incredible season of hard work, determination and plenty of Roos spirit. Every training session, every game and every challenge has helped get them here! 💪

🏉💛A special day for our U16 girls!💛🏉

Our U16 girls took on Newport today, and they got a pretty special surprise on the sidelines! 👀🔥

The girls had the chance to grab a photo with Wallabies legend Matt Burke! Talk about a moment to remember! 🇦🇺🏉

A huge thanks to Matt for taking the time to meet the girls and share a few smiles with our future stars. 📸✨

🎀🩷 More Than a Game 🩷🎀

Today, our LMRC Under 12s and the Maitland Blacks Under 12s stood side by side in a moment of silence for Ali.

Ali was a beautiful 12-year-old girl who played for Southlakes Roosters Rugby League. Tragically, she took her own life earlier this week. Our hearts go out to her family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone whose lives she touched 🩷

Although none of our players had the privilege of knowing Ali personally, they were deeply moved by her story and wanted to show their respect. Together, both teams stood in silence while holding Ali’s jersey number 3. Our LMRC players also proudly wore pink armbands in her honour.

Today reminded us that rugby is about so much more than winning or losing. It’s about community, compassion, respect, and standing together when it matters most. 💗

Despite the rivalry that exists on the field, today two teams united as one. They honoured a young life, supported a grieving community, and, after the final whistle, ran through the puddles together with smiles on their faces. It was a beautiful reminder that kindness will always be bigger than competition. 🩷🌧️🏉
