🔴Round 9🔴

So after a discussion as to what we would decide if we won the toss, Andrew chose to bowl. I know, not the smartest thing with 9 players.

Fatty thought he better take the new ball and at the end of the first over Bruce Rock were 0/26.

We were chasing the ball around for quite a few overs before the first breakthrough with Andrew taking the top of off stump in his 3rd over. Walshy then followed up the next over with a peach to trap the batsman LBW.

With Andrew choosing to bowl he found himself fielding in the deep becoming the target for a few batsmen taking a staggering 4 catches, 2 from James’ bowling and one from Jai.

‼️Jack Bloxsome also took his first wicket in senior cricket with the assistance from Andrew in the outfield.

‼️Angelo Guerini also took his first wicket taking the leg stump of the batsman and you couldn’t get the smile off either of Angelos or Jacks faces.

After the 20 overs Bruce Rock powered to 7/175.

Our turn with the willow, which started sketchy with some accurate bowling from the home side. None of our batsmen reached double figures which sums up our day of cricket.

We did not waiver, we held our heads high and did what we needed to do to ensure this wonderful game does not go quietly into the night and slip from our grasp.

Watching the pups coming through is frustratingly rewarding in regards to development takes time and effort with quite a few of the seniors still in the midst of harvest or unavailable due to distance.
