With great sadness we advise of the passing our our beloved Life Member Elaine Duyvestyn.

Elaine, you may not have worn the Wingers uniform for a few years now, but you always had Wingers in your heart.
From the last minute governance calls to the updates on how the teams were going, you always wanted to check in how your beloved Wingers were looking.

With Lorraine, Julie and now you in heaven, you can join all the other softball greats and play a ripper game of softball!!!

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Elaine Duyvestyn OAM.

Elaine passed away last night and is finally at peace.

Elaine was a stalwart in Melbourne Softball and Softball at large.

Elaine was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a treasured Nana, a daughter, and a loyal friend. She touched the lives of so many with her kindness, strength, wisdom, and unconditional love.

She was the heart of Duyvestyn family, always putting others before herself and bringing people together with her love and generosity. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Congratulations to the 2026 Melbourne Open Women's Representative Team!!!
2026 Open Women's Div 2 Champions!!!!

The team finished the division games on top of the ladder with an impressive 5 wins/ 1 loss.

Unfortunately due to some not so nice rain coming through fast and strong, there was no choice but to call off the Grand finals.

We sincerely hope that all the Melbourne Softball team had a great experience representing the association.

We also hope that all other members of the Melbourne Softball community had a great tournament also.

Thank you again to Softball Albury Wodonga for hosting the event.
