NSW RUGBY UNION SUCCESSFUL RECIPIENT OF THE HER SPORT HER WAY GRANT FOR 2023

NSW Rugby Union is pleased to announce it has been awarded funding from the latest NSW Office of Sport initiative, Her Sport Her Way Grant.

NSWRU has developed the Rugby For Good “Our Turn / Your Time” program which targets the current female adolescent decline in sport participation. Our program is designed to provide an inclusive rugby experience and development program and encompasses female athlete health and wellness education.
Resources will also be committed to establish a dedicated youth leader/ambassador working group and marketing campaign to normalise female participation in rugby. Further to this NSWRU will produce legacy resources for coaches, clubs and schools to develop female rugby programs.

Hi all,
Thanks to those who came down last Friday fortnight, I hope you had a great night. I did get some positive feedback which was great.
I am writing to let you know we will have games on again this Friday night with our teams will be hosting NSW Fijian teams as they prepare for the Pacific nations cup at the end of the month. It should be a great night and atmosphere down at the club.
Games will commence at 6pm and look forward to seeing you there.
Finally, our last games of the year will be held on the 2nd of December for those who are able to make it,

🏉Burra Girls update.🏉
Today our girls went to Wollongong to play in the Illawarra 7s competition.
The girls played 3 games of some very exciting 7s Rugby, with one win from three the girls are determined to come back next week for a better result.
The girls now have their feet up and watching the Australian Women’s 7s team go for Gold at the Commonwealth Games.

Coaching applications for the Junior Illawarriors Representative Girls 7s teams are now open!

7s representative season is coming up. NSW 7’s State Champs will be held on 24-26 Sep (U11 & U13) and 7-9 October 2022 (U15 & U17). With the exception of the U11’s This year’s 7’s competition will be for District based teams as with the 15’s competition. Districts will need to select teams for inclusion in the competition. Clubs will not be permitted to submit teams in the 2022 7 a side State Cup for U13, U15 & U17.

U11s are asked to enter club teams not District teams.
