Taking the first steps to 3d print parts for a project printer. Friend says just buy one ready made. Where is the fun in that ??
I am tuning settings to print accurate parts in ABS.
Did a test print for a 4wd hub cover made from scratch in solidworks. Also a rear camera mount. Designed also in CAD.
Fitted to the car nicely and drove away. I hope it stayed on.

A thought on raspberry pi zero series wifi enabled chips. They make great LED controllers. I thought of a WIFI enabled lightweight controller for kite display at night..
A toolbox with power and a pi5 ‘server’ running a router for wifi, with multiple ‘slave’ pi zero attached to the kites receiving signal from the main in real time to control LED lightshow.
The larger pi uses owntone plugins to parse signal from the music to pulse signal to each kite individually kindve like Winamp!. No more pre programmed routines.
Cost of pre-made kits got me thinking. Could do 10 kites with controllers and LED all choreographed to doof doof for the cost of 1 or 2 kits.
You can control al this from a tablet running pi helper on the wifi from the toolbox.
Chuck a solar on top of the toolbox and you have a charger station for the pi led packs.

I don’t post often anymore, however I reckon this one is worthy. The Bakelite take up lever on my pfaff gave up the ghost. So a little bid of CAD and some extrusion.. good for another 50 years ?

All it takes is a trip up the beach powered by a kite, to re-connect. Some great beaches up this way.

Night Flies make such a spectacular display. We were out flying with Elly Richie last night and against the night sky, this eerie display looked like something from the bottom of the ocean!

Back in Kingston S.E in South Australia and we helped celebrate the 150th birthday of Cape Jaffa Lighthouse. The winds were roughly WSW, 12-15 knots which put us nicely across the foreshore. A big day of flying 8am until 5:30pm and the a spectacular night display.

We have a dedicated kite flying area. Please be mindful of others when flying your kite and always accompany children when flying kites.
