Albert Sailing Club Albert Sailing Club has sailing for dinghy class sailboats on Albert Park Lake, the safest and most Albert Sailing Club Inc.

Founded in 1948 as a family oriented club which promotes dinghy sailing for people of all ages, genders and levels of experience. Over the years many people have developed and enjoyed their sailing at Albert Sailing Club. They have progressed to be people who enjoy sailing socially; many to be good club level racing sailors; and in quite a number of cases state, national or international champions

. Tom King, multiple world champion and Olympic sailing Gold Medallist in 2000, learnt to sail and developed to be a world champion at Albert Sailing Club in the 1980’s and early 90’s. This is 'The Famous Nursery Club', with emphasis on youth and strong family promotion There is sail training in all aspects in a friendly safe environment. is accreditted as an Australian Sailing Training Centre and provides training through its training centre and in partnership with the Australian Sailing Boatshed next door. Saturdays: Casual sailing with club Racing every Saturday afternoon ALL YEAR ROUND. Sundays: Club rooms open selected days, social events, sailing. Midweek: Afternoon and twilight sailing on selected days in warmer months. Club Facilities:

This Coming Weekend at ASC:

ASC’s annual Top of the Lake Regatta will be sailed Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of June. Short course format with the information session on Saturday at 12:30pm, racing to start at 1:15pm.
Racing on Sunday is scheduled to start at 10:30am.
Registration and details are available on ASC’s website.

Online entries close at 11pm Thursday 18th of June.

Please note, ASC/APYC members sailing in the Autumn Championship series will need to complete the online regatta registration to be registered for those club races.

As of Wednesday, there were 40 entries with 7 Laser Radials, 9 Impulses. 7 Sabres, 9 Optimists, 3 Green Fleet Optimists, 1 Aero, 1 Laser Full Rig, 1 Pacer, 1 Mirror. More entries expected.

Upcoming:
APYC’s WinterSail 2026, a three day coaching clinic and racing regatta for junior and youth sailors (under 18 years of age) is from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th of July. This year there is a 20% discount for full year ASC members. Details available on the APYC website.

This Coming Weekend at ASC:

This Saturday the Autumn Handicap Series continues with two short races scheduled in the afternoon. Sign on and briefing at APYC at 1:15pm, racing starts at 2:00pm.

Sunday 14th of June is the 4th and final week of the Victorian Optimist Class Association’s (VIODA) Block 1 Coaching Program from 1:00-4:00pm.

The lake water level has increased slightly however the water level remains low, so we will be continuing to sail with partially raised centreboards.

Upcoming:
- ASC’s annual Top of the Lake Regatta will be held on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of June from mid morning to mid afternoon.
There will be a series of short course races for dinghy classes in the northern half of Albert Park Lake.
Registration and details are available on the ASC website, www.albertsc.org.au.
Online entries required by Thursday 18th of June at the latest.

- The Parks Victoria contractor is cutting and skimming aquatic w**d on Albert Park Lake midweek for two weeks at the start of June.
- Parks Victoria have advised that there will be a significant increase in annual and casual parking fees in Albert Park from 1 July. The annual Parks Victoria parking permits are good value for ASC members driving to the club at least 12 or so times per year. Permits can be applied for or renewed through the Parks Victoria portal online. Get in by the end of June for the 2025/26 rate. For more information visit the Parking Permits tab on our website.

Albert Sailing Club’s annual Top of the Lake regatta is being sailed on Albert Park Lake, Saturday 20th June (pm) and Sunday 21st June. Dinghy class sailors of all ages and levels of experience are invited to come and sail the regatta. Go to www.albertsc.org.au for Regatta details and the entry link. Visiting spectators welcome.

The Top of the Lake Regatta follows a short race format with races of 30 to 45 minutes in two sessions. Saturday's Information session is at 12.30pm for starts from 1.15pm and Sunday from 10.15am with racing planned to finish by mid afternoon.

This Coming Weekend at ASC:

This Saturday 30th of May the Autumn Championship Series continues with 2 short races scheduled in the afternoon. There will be a presentation for the APYC/ASC Summer Series, Sign on and briefing at ASC at 1:05pm with racing starting at 2:00pm.

The lake water levels have increased slightly but still remain quite low, so we will be continuing to sail with partially raised centreboards.

Sunday 31/05, is the 3rd week of the Victorian Optimist Class Association’s (VIODA) Coaching Program from 1pm - 4pm.

Upcoming:
- No club sailing next weekend due to King’s Birthday long weekend. The Autumn Series will resume on Saturday 13/06.
- ASC’s annual Top of the Lake Regatta will be held over 20th and 21st of June. Registration and Details are available on the ASC website.

This Coming Weekend at ASC:

This Saturday 23rd of May the Autumn Handicap Series continues with 2 short races scheduled in the afternoon. Sign on and briefing at APYC at 1:15pm with racing starting at 2:00pm. ASC member Lesley, who was recently awarded life membership at our AGM, is the ASC Race Officer for the day.

We also have an informal sail by club members of Radio Controlled boats at 11am from the jetty in front of ASC. Visitors with or without boats welcome.

There has been a small amount of rain this week but the lake water level is still quite low, so we will be continuing to sail with partially raised centreboards.

On Sunday 24/05, the Victorian Optimist Class Association’s (VIODA) annual Teams Racing event is being sailed across the day, with another coaching session for younger/green fleet sailors from 1pm.
