This weekend I had the incredible opportunity to speak at the Hormones & High Rollers event, and as I was sharing my story, it reminded me why I started Desert Bloom Collective in the first place.
Truthfully... I didn't start it because I just wanted to continue to teach aerials or pole.
I started it because I know what it's like to doubt yourself and to not feel like you are worthy or capable.
For most of my life, I was the drifter friend. I never really had a "girl gang" or a place where I truly felt like I belonged. I spent years thinking confidence was something other people were born with.
Then I found movement.
Not because I loved exercise—I actually found the gym repetitive and boring after a while —but because I found something that challenged me in a completely different way. Every little achievement reminded me that my body was capable of far more than I ever gave it credit for. The stronger I became physically, the stronger I became mentally. Somewhere along the way, I stopped focusing on what my body looked like and started appreciating what it could do.
That changed everything.
That's why Desert Bloom Collective exists.
It isn't about being the strongest.
It isn't about being the most flexible.
It isn't about losing weight.
It isn't about looking a certain way.
If it was, I'd be looking like a supermodel!
It's about discovering what you're capable of.
It's about walking into a room feeling nervous and walking out standing a little taller.
It's about proving to yourself that you can do hard things.
It's about feeling connected, accepted and supported by people who genuinely want to see you succeed.
When you walk into one of my classes, I don't care what you weigh, how old you are, whether you've exercised before, or whether you think you're "not strong enough."
None of that matters.
You are welcome exactly as you are. You develop and learn at your own pace.
My passion has never been creating athletes. It's creating confidence.
I want people to rediscover their self-worth, reignite the confidence they may have lost somewhere along life's journey, and leave every class feeling empowered, resilient and proud of themselves. If someone leaves believing in themselves just a little bit more than when they arrived, then I've done what I set out to do.
Exercise shouldn't have to feel like punishment.
When you find movement that excites you, challenges you and makes you laugh, it stops feeling like exercise. It becomes something you genuinely look forward to. It becomes self-care. It becomes therapy. It becomes community.
And community is something I want Desert Bloom Collective to become known for.
This is only the beginning.
My dream is to one day have a fully indoor Desert Bloom Collective studio when I find the right location—a warm, welcoming space where people of all ages can come together for small group classes, workshops and community events. A place where people don't just improve their physical health, but where friendships are built, confidence grows, isolation is replaced with connection, and everyone feels like they belong.
Because everyone deserves to know what it feels like to be proud of themselves.
Thank you to everyone who came along to Hormones & High Rollers and allowed me to share my story. It was such a privilege to be part of a day dedicated to empowering people, and I hope even one person walked away believing they are capable of more than they ever imagined.
This isn't just my business.
It's a community.
And no matter where you're starting from, there will always be a place for you here.
🤍 Welcome to Desert Bloom Collective.
