CrossFit training is constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity. This type of training incorporates the 10 physical elements: strength, power, agility, flexibility, endurance, stamina, coordination, accuracy, agility and balance. We use natural movement principals to make for a fun and challenging way to train and lose weight. Routine is the enemy; you’ll rarely do the

same workout twice. Despite this, workouts are
are programmed in cycles to ensure you are continuously building strength and skill. It may seem intimidating, but in reality, CrossFit is ideal for all fitness levels due to its infinite scalability. It is not uncommon to see elite athletes training next to grandparents, and everything in between. CrossFit is more than just exercise (cliché I know), we, especially at CrossFit Barwon, focus on developing a positive environment where the community drives each other to be the best they can be. You won’t just walk into a gym, but a community of friends who will give you the banter and support to get you through any workout. We want to see all our members achieve their health and fitness potential. Our classes are capped at 12 people so that each person can receive the coaching and support they need. Before integrating into classes, new members are also privately coached to teach proper technique, address any personal hurdles and ensure they are feeling capable and confident in the gym. Specific Olympic weightlifting classes are also offered to those who want to fine tune their movements and competence with a barbell.

This week was absolutely banging. Ray’s putting up numbers on the bench that made me go quiet for a second, Serina’s consistency with the Olympic lifts is something else, and honestly we’ve got PBs popping off across the board. But here’s the thing - we’ve also got Murph coming up on Australia Day and it’s going to be absolutely hectic in the best way possible. Bring your mates, and yeah there’s a gift involved cuz why not. First week In review of 2026 just dropped and mate we’ve got some absolute belters. Glenn pulled a 15 kilo bench press personal record, our Hell’s Bells comp teams brought home some serious hardware, and honestly the technical quality this week has been next level.

Australia Day Hero WOD - we’re doing Murph and you’re invited 🇦🇺

One mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, another mile run. All while wearing a weighted vest if you’re game.

Murph’s one of the most iconic Hero WODs out there, and doing it on Australia Day just feels right. Good people, tough workout, and a chance to honor Lieutenant Michael Murphy properly.

Doesn’t matter if you’re a member or not - come join us for this one. We’ll have scaling options for all levels, so no excuses about not being ready.

Tommy bombed out at his weightlifting comp. Then got drug tested. Results came back positive… for community support. 🏋️‍♂️

Tommy went to his comp, things didn’t go to plan (it happens), and then mate - they pulled him for a drug test! Of all the people!

Test results? Positive. For having the best bloody community in his corner 💙

To everyone who showed up, cheered, stayed the whole day, and made the drive - you absolute legends! That’s what it’s about! Win, lose, bomb out - doesn’t matter. We show up for each other 🔥

Tommy might not have lifted what he wanted, but he left with something better - knowing his crew had his back no matter what 💪
