Their response made an incredible difference and saved our neighbours from any major damage! Thank you, we are incredibly grateful for the work you do for our community!

We could not be more thankful for our incredible SMMA community and the wider jiu jitsu community as we have trekked through the last couple of days.

Whilst we are devastated and still figuring out our next steps, we have been so supported by those near and far! Thank you to everyone for their kind words, lending their ears, hands and hearts, and to everyone who has donated to our fundraiser.

With these donations we are hoping to support all our members with both short and long term solutions to our current circumstances!

Not a post any business owner ever wants to make...

At roughly 0015 Tuesday morning a fire was deliberately lit at Somerville MMA.

Unfortunately we’re unaware of any threats, disgruntled members or potential vendettas so we’re at a bit of a loss for what’s happened. Police are involved and following a few lines of enquiry.

After finally getting access it was clear nothing in the gym was salvageable. Fire fighters reported the blaze exceeding 1000c. We did manage to find a few momentos, some medals, belts and other items that miraculously survived.

It’s also likely the building will be condemned, so we are currently looking for short and long term solutions.

We have stopped all memberships and if anyone is charged during this time, please email so we can refund you.

We just want to say an incredible thankyou to everyone who’s reached out with kind words, offered hands or even dropped by just to sit in it with us. Frankie wrote us a really kind letter yesterday morning, and reminded us a fight gym isn’t a building, it’s a group of people.

It’s just stuff, we can replace stuff, and we are incredibly greatful to emergency services who worked under challenging circumstances to save the surrounding businesses.

We’re going to navigate this thing one step at a time, we’re going rebuild it brick by brick, win by win and day by day.

Although we’re devastated and at a loss for words over such senseless cowardly behaviour, we remain ourselves and unbroken.
