Welcome, Jack Slattery 🏃💨

Our June Internship is underway and we are pleased to introduce Jack to the team!

Jack is 1 of 2 interns joining us for the next 20 weeks, who was highly recommended by mutual peers so our decision was almost made for us.

In this video you will hear more on why Jack chose to apply and what he hopes to achieve out of his time here with us.

The frosty mornings and the dark evenings are balanced out with all the great things happening in our space!

The gym has been absolutely humming with energy as we roll through the first few weeks of Winter.

Soon athletes will start talking about finals, other members will continue chasing goals and rehab clients returning to doing what they love.

As coaches, we just show up and set the scene.

This month we’ve welcomed new interns to the team, released a podcast (with another one next week) and most importantly watched our community continue to show up and do the work.

Big things are coming over the next few months and we’re excited to bring you all along for the ride.

Classic Kobe Bryant mentality ⬇️

During the 2009 NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic, a reporter suggested that Kobe had “hit a wall” and looked tired…

To which Kobe delivered this legendary response:

Reporter: “What is your reaction to some speculation that you may have hit a wall last night, or that you’re tired?”

Kobe Bryant: “As far as me hitting a wall... So what if I did? I didn’t, but so what if I did?”

Reporter: “What does it mean, if you did?”

Kobe Bryant: “It means nothing.”

Reporter: “Why?”

‘Return to Perform’ at Peak💨 

After sustaining both a Fibula and Weber C fracture in his ankle, David has spent the last 7 months rebuilding strength, power and the confidence needed to return to the field!

We started by focusing on calf strength, balance and proprioception before progressively advancing to higher-level running, jumping and hopping variations to prepare him for the demands of football. 

Regular VALD testing helped us track key performance markers and make informed decisions throughout the rehab journey, ensuring he was ready to make a safe return.

Now he’s back playing, continuing to develop in the weight room and back out doing what he loves! Great work mate!

‘From The Floor’ - Ep. 13 💪🏼

A large part of what we’ve built is highly focused around youth development (ages 14+).

The biggest success stories I’ve seen are from those who are still with us in their 20’s that started in their early teens.

And so it goes, “success leaves clues…”

It’s happening in the private sector such as ours, however a push for more physical development in the Australian high-school setting is needed.

They don’t have to play a sport, just more awareness and resources around holding its importance to a higher standard.

I’ve been at Mt.Erin College once a week since around 2017, it doesn’t take much but the accumulation of skill acquisition over time is significant.
