Whether through fixing your bike or building you a new one - we are here to help you. We want to also contribute to the environment by saving your bike and minimising waste. High-performance bikes use the same advanced materials (e.g. Pre-Preg Carbon Fibre composites, Titanium and lightweight alloys) and construction techniques as Carbon Fibre Yachts. They both have complex components that must perform under load and stress when pushed to the limit under race conditions. You can drop off your bike at our workshop or we can assist to arrange delivery by courier. We prefer bikes to be stripped down and clean for ease of repair, however, we can also offer this as a service. OUR SERVICES:

This steerer tube had suffered some nasty damage because the stem was positioned too high and wasn’t clamping along its full intended length.

Instead of distributing the load evenly, the lower front edge of the stem was digging directly into the carbon steerer. Under braking and front-end loading, this concentrated pressure caused a deep horizontal crack through the underlying carbon laminate.

The next stage from here would not have been pretty.

Fortunately, we caught the damage while the frame was in our workshop for an unrelated repair. Thoroughly checking these critical areas is simply part of the service we provide—and part of what sets Carbon Bike Doctor apart.

This timely inspection may have prevented a catastrophic failure.

Carbon repair meets custom paintwork. 👌

This old-school TREK Speed Concept came in needing a carbon repair, but with a custom finish like this, the job didn’t stop at the structure.

We completed the repair using pre-preg carbon and thermoset resin, then freehand-painted the special-effect finish to blend it back into the original custom paintwork.

No decals. No shortcuts. Just carbon repair, colour matching and plenty of handwork to bring it back together.

Another one saved. 💪

This BIKE AHEAD COMPOSITES BI TURBO 6-spoke wheel came to us with nasty outer-rim impact damage after meeting a pothole the hard way.

With a wheel like this, there’s absolutely nowhere to hide anything with paint — the repair has to be right.

Our neat, high-compression, heat-cured repair process uses pre-impregnated carbon fibre and thermoset resin to restore the damaged structure with exceptional control and finish.

Anything less in this case simply wouldn’t have repaired — or saved — this wheel.

MTB Carbon Wheel – Valve Hole Repair
The valve hole area was repaired and reinforced using a precision-shaped pre-impregnated (pre-preg) carbon fibre twill patch. The patch was carefully moulded to match the wheel profile, then bonded and cured under controlled heat and pressure to restore strength and durability and ensure the valve seals.

This TREK Émonda was involved in a front-on collision with a solid object. Removing the fork revealed substantial carbon damage to the lower fork steerer and crown.

The rider managed to ride the bike home safely 😬not advisable! I cannot help thinking that one large bump or pothole could have turned a bad day into a very bad day.

After any significant accident, take the time to stop and thoroughly assess the situation before continuing to ride. Then have the bike professionally inspected and tested.

To conduct a thorough inspection, we need the bike fully stripped down to access all critical areas and perform ultrasound NDT where required.

BMC Carbon Fork Steerer – Upper Bearing Race Damage Repair

This BMC carbon fork was sent to us by a bike shop after the headset could no longer be adjusted correctly. Inspection revealed a noticeable front-to-back groove in the upper bearing race seat.

Before considering any repair, we carried out a full ultrasonic NDT inspection. The scan confirmed there was no underlying structural damage—only a wear/tolerance issue affecting the bearing fit.

To restore the bearing seat, we completed a localised pre-impregnated (pre-preg), thermoset resin unidirectional carbon fibre repair, cured under high pressure to produce a hard, dense, and dimensionally stable surface while keeping the repair minimal.

At Carbon Bike Doctor, we’re proud of our repairs and have no hesitation in showing our work. We believe transparency is important—it helps customers understand exactly what has been done and gives them confidence in the repair process.

Not all custom bike paint jobs are created equal.

Both of these high-end frames were custom painted by the brands’ recommended painters—two different companies in these cases. Unfortunately, it appears there was minimal preparation of the original finish before the new colour base coat was applied. The result is a paint system that chips and damages far more easily than it should.

We often have customers compare our custom paint pricing to these types of “resprays,” but the difference is in the process.

Every Carbon Bike Doctor custom paint job starts with meticulous surface preparation and an epoxy undercoat to create a durable foundation for the entire paint system. This ensures excellent adhesion, long-term durability, and a premium finish while keeping weight to a minimum.

S-Works Tarmac SL7 – Speed of Light Collection

Seatstay repair using pre-impregnated, thermoset resin carbon fibre, followed by a full frame paint restoration.

We meticulously matched every layer of the original special-effect finish, including the candy fades, colour blends, and depth effects that make this frame so unique.

Replicating someone else’s artwork is often far more difficult than creating your own from scratch. Quite often, repairs like this push into what many would consider impossible.

Big shout-out to all the other magicians out there who can faithfully recreate another artist’s work. It takes a serious level of skill, patience, and respect for the original finish.
