Footy and netball trial games done ✅ A great chance to blow out the cobwebs and build into the season.

Thanks to Hamley Bridge for last week’s football trial game and to BMW for this week’s netball and footy hit-outs in picturesque Melrose 🤝

A big thank you to Chris Jaeschke for organising and driving a bus from town to Melrose for our city-based players.
…and thanks to Mikey Atkinson and Neil Mackay for driving our club bus to and from Melrose for our country lads — fair to say Neil had the tougher gig, with the trip home taking considerably longer than the trip there 😆

There have been some instances where netballers are registering under the North Eastern Football League.

📍Please note, when selecting Sport voucher, on the last page, the payment page you must select 'Voucher type' and click sports voucher.
This will apply the voucher and reduce your total amount due.

Come & Try 2026

Our annual Come & Try event once again brought excitement to our junior Cats, kicking off the season in style. With the courts and ovals packed with eager young athletes, it was another fantastic turnout!

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who ran the sessions, cooked, and served the food. We’re lucky to have some of the best volunteers around, and our kids are pretty special too!

As the coaches and junior committees work to settle teams ahead of Round 1, please be patient. If you have any questions or need more information, don’t hesitate to reach out to our junior coordinators.

Footy Umpires Needed 2026! 🏉

BSFC is on the lookout for central umpires across all grades this season to boost our pool.

Where we need help:
• U9 & U12 – home games only
• U14 – home & away
• U17, A & B Grade – assisting NEFL with supply

Whether you’ve recently retired and still want to be out on the field, or you’ve found yourself making the calls from the boundary anyway 😂 – we’d love to have you involved.

As we all know, there’s no game without umpires, and there’s never been more support, training and resources available for those willing to take up the whistle.

🚨 Trainers Needed – We Need Your Help! 🚨

Our club is currently short on trainers and, to be completely honest, we’re not far off being in a really tough spot.

Under SANFL requirements, games cannot go ahead without trainers – which means no trainers = no footy.

The good news? No experience is necessary to get started! As Head Trainer Michelle will be present to help, but she can’t do it all on her own.

Whether you can help every week or just occasionally, we would love to hear from you. It’s a great way to be involved, support our players, and be part of the club.

Welcome Nathan Pengilly – U12 Co-Coach who will help with the large group of U12’s alongside Simon McCormack 🐾

Nathan; a solid performer across both A and B Grade since joining the Cats in 2017, Nathan brings plenty of experience and leadership to the role. He reached the milestone of 100 senior games for the Cats in 2025 and backed it up with a terrific season, taking out the 2026 B Grade Best & Fairest.

Nathan’s passion for the club and the game makes him a great fit to help guide and develop our next generation of Cats.
