As I write my final President’s Report for the Woady Yaloak Football Netball Club, I do so with a heavy heart. None of us imagined our journey would end this way.
Since 2019, Woady Yaloak has been far more than a sporting club. It has been a place of belonging, friendship, pride and opportunity for hundreds of local children and families. Serving as President for the past six years has been one of the greatest honours of my life.
What has stood out most during this difficult time has been the overwhelming support from our community. It has reinforced what we have always known community sport matters, and every child deserves the opportunity to belong close to home.
While football participation challenges have brought us to this point, our netball program continues to thrive, and I want to acknowledge the resilience and commitment of our netball family.
The true strength of Woady Yaloak was never measured by premierships, ladder positions or league decisions. It has always been measured by its people.
From packed clubrooms, Trivia Nights and Bogan Bingo, to Auskick kids running around and celebrations after victories, the memories and friendships formed along the way will always be our greatest legacy.
To everyone who wore our colours, volunteered, coached, sponsored, served on committees, supported from the sidelines, or simply believed in what Woady Yaloak stood for, Thank You.
While this chapter may be closing, I believe the spirit of Woady Yaloak lives on in its people and will endure for many years to come.
