Round 10 action sees the Emus hit the road to Newlyn for a big day of football and netball. With plenty on the line across the grades, it’s set to be a great contest, so make sure you rug up and get along to support the teams.

The Under 15 netballers have a crucial matchup ahead, with Skipton currently sitting 9th and Newlyn 10th on the ladder. Every game counts as both sides look to climb the standings.

The Under 17 netballers are also set for a thrilling battle, with both teams locked together on equal points. Expect a tight contest as they fight for valuable ladder position.

For the Reserve footballers, Saturday presents a must-win opportunity to stay in touch with the top eight and keep finals aspirations alive. The inclusion of Nath Olver and Chris Banwell brings valuable experience and maturity to the side as they look to get the job done.

The Senior footballers welcome Lachie Lamb back for his first senior game of the season. Congratulations and all the best, Lamby! Luke Delahey, Andrew Pitson and Ashton Lantzke also return to strengthen the side. After a tough result last round, the seniors will be determined to bounce back and return to the winners’ list.

The A Grade netballers continue to build momentum, with Shan delivering a standout performance last week, backed up by some outstanding defensive efforts from Loz Bodman. The team will be looking to carry that form into another strong performance this weekend.

Don’t forget, ball tickets are still available for Saturday night. The ball is shaping up to be a fantastic evening and one not to be missed.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated towards our Goods and Services Auction next month. We appreciate the incredible support from our community and welcome all donations, big or small, with all funds raised going towards building a new playground.

Go Emus!

It was another big day for the Emus, with plenty of great performances across both football and netball.

Our Under 13A netballers came away with a fantastic 20–9 victory, with Rocco and Sarah taking home the awards. B Grade continued their strong form with an impressive 30–19 win, with Molly Larkin Clifton and Sophie Calvert recognised for their efforts. This win sees the B Grade team climb to 11th on the ladder.

A Grade secured a hard-fought 39–33 victory in a gutsy performance. Congratulations to Webelec award winner Shannon Palmer and Golf House award winner Lauren Bodman. The win moves the team into 7th position on the ladder.

On the football field, the Under 15s put together an impressive performance, finishing with a convincing 110–12 win. Joel Hinkley and Charlie Molloy were the award winners, with Charlie also contributing an incredible five goals. The win sees the boys sitting 2nd on the ladder.

The Under 18s continued their strong season with a 74–17 victory. Congratulations to award winners Kolby Haley and Jed Summers, with the team holding onto top spot on the ladder.

It was a challenging day for the Reserves, going down by 108 points. Congratulations to Andrew Robertson and Marcus Graham on their efforts and award recognition.

The Seniors battled hard but fell short, going down 47–80. Well done to Casey Couacaud and Josh Webster for being named the award winners.

A huge thank you to Lauren Bodman, Kim Haley, Ange Gowans and Alex McLean for their incredible work organising Ladies Day. It was a fantastic event and a wonderful fundraiser supporting Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Keep an eye on our socials for all the upcoming Goods and Services Auction items. There are plenty of exciting items up for grabs, and we’re calling on our wonderful community to get behind the event by donating anything big or small. Every contribution helps us reach our goal.

Finally, best of luck to all our boys and girls representing the league today at Interleague football and netball, kicking off at 11am at Buninyong. We’re proud to have you representing the Emus!
