Hey guys as we all know , it’s mental health awareness week and I wanted to just give a shout out to anyone who is struggling that you aren’t alone and you will get through it, keep fighting , keep pushing on, there is light at the end of the tunnel 💚

❕I see way to often trainers throwing their clients under heavy loads or even just a barbell when they just aren’t ready for it…

❕Thomas is 14 years old and we are still focussing on the way the body moves and how to control it properly with either just body weight movements or small added weights

❕Slow eccentric (going down phase) box squats is great for teens or even just new gym comers. What we focus on is to control the quads , hamstrings & glutes at a slow rate to touch the box and stand back up

❗️ Thomas has been absolutely killing it with how far he has come from starting out just a few months ago 💯

❗️ DB Pullovers

❕Obviously when choosing your exercises in your programs, you’re looking for what exercises tear down the fascia of what muscle right?

❗️If you have some muscle stiffness or you simply can’t even wash your own back due to your mobility being dog s**t, then you should be looking at exercises that stretch the muscles past “comfortable” point

❕Whilst the DB pullover predominately work your lats, (chest if manipulated) it’s also an amazing exercises for people with upper back, chest and shoulder restrictions due to your mobility just not being adequate , try adding this exercises into your routine

❕Rehab can be a painful thing at times and sometimes can feel like it’s going no where

❗️Do NOT stop. After weeks and weeks of continuous rehabilitation to my ankle in a footy injury , I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel

❕A little control and stability exercise I’ve been doing in the lock down to strength my hamstrings and work on my balance

❗️Stay safe everyone and keep moving your body through these tough times

❗️Client Halea performing hamstring curls on an exercise ball 🏀

❗️By adding the difficulty of keeping your glutes suspended whilst executing this exercise brings the abdominal and glutes in a simple hamstring curl

❗️Try adding these or supplementing the standard hamstring curl machine exercise to this manoeuvre and let me know your thoughts

! Feel like your bench press has come to a plateau? Got banged up shoulders but don’t want to miss out on “International Chest Day”?

! The floor press is a partial range of motion of the bench press.

! Benefits -

! Great exercise to add mass to chest and triceps without adding excess strain to the shoulders

! Less risk of injury for beginners

! Great for targeting certain portions of the lift

! Target your lockout strength which a lot of gym goers result in miss lifts due to not being able to lock out at top of lift

“Bro do you even progressive overload? 🤯” A while ago I was stuck with my training and hit the stage no one ever wants to go.... THE PLATEAU 🤬 Tried different ways of getting out of it and it all came down to one simple technique ......

Progressive Overload. 🤌🏼

What is progressive overload you may ask?

Progressive overload is when you gradually increase the weight, frequency, or number of repetitions in your strength training routine. This challenges your body and allows your musculoskeletal system to get stronger.

My progressive overload this week was to finish off my last set with a drop set into 1 & 1/4 reps and let me tell you now it burns 🥵 🔥

Try implementing this into one of your compound exercises and let me know how you go or if you can still stand 😅

~ A mindset refers to whether you believe qualities such as intelligence and talent are fixed or changeable traits. ... Those with a growth mindset, on the other hand, believe that these abilities can be developed and strengthened by way of commitment and hard work.

~ Anybody can turn up to the gym and do their exercises with the wrong mindset and wonder why they aren’t making progress.

~ The world isn’t perfect and of course you are going to have some bad days but it’s about getting past the off days and creating more of the good days, not just in the gym but at home, at work, on the footy field or anything in your life that feels like a set back. Your mind is the most important aspect in your body and the way you control it will determine your outcome of being happy.

~ Why the video? I had one of the worst days I’ve had in months! I slept past my alarm, I forgot my lunch for work , i kicked my toe on the corner of the bench and I even received the email everyone dreads of having to renew their car rego 🤣 Instead of kicking stones and letting all the bad circumstances that happened control the outcome of my day, I went to the gym and smashed out a PB in the gym!

~ If something unfortunate happens during the day or week don’t sit on it and dwell and feel sorry for yourself! Get back up and keeping moving forward.

~ Hope everyone is having an amazing Thursday and kicking goals! 💯
