Silkwood Open Classic 4’s, proudly sponsored by Weipa Bowls Club.
A full green with 64 players all vying for 3 wins. Was a very tight finish to the end. Fantastic bowls were played throughout the day. Winning teams are;

2nd Team, Greg Mo, Gordonvale (Gordy Boys) 3W + 53.
3rd team, Glennis, Louise, Debbie, Judy 3W + 52.

Just a touch of things happening at Silkwood for August with more yet to come for the month.
Social Bowls Wednesday & Sunday, names in before 1pm for a 1.30pm start. Been great to see catch-up with visiting bowlers and new bowlers for fun days and laughter. All enquiries to 0475759808.

The club has been buzzing over the past few months with Club Championships and Pennant Rounds now completed. Our bowlers have shown outstanding commitment, skill, and sportsmanship throughout every event.

District Champion of Champions pairs got under way today at Innisfail Bowls Club, Denise & Lee-ann won their round & semi-final games today progressing through to the Final game to be played tomorrow morning at Innisfail, Silkwood vs Edmonton.

Community Bank Mission Beach celebrated 18 years serving the community and supporting community organizations. Two of our long standing members Len Charman (Vice - President) & Bryan Meyer attended the celebrations which coincided with Volunteers Week. Members of 10 or more years were awarded Appreciation Certificates. Silkwood Bowls Club was recipients of a $200 donation. Greatly Appreciate the support from Community Bank Mission Beach.

Need some coaching to get you started playing bowls? Silkwood Bowls Club is only too happy to help. We have Denise and Lee-Ann, two highly qualified coaches, as well as a band of enthusiastic members.
We are very proud of our two coaches who recently participated in the District squad that played at the Gold Coast. Denise also went on to play in the State competition.
For a small club, we are “rolling” in talent!
