Shortland United Junior Football Club is a family friendly club, and welcomes children and adults of any age, gender or skill level. We encourage parents to get involved with the club and their children, either by participating in training, coaching or managing their team, signing up to play the sport themselves and giving their children a new way to be inspired, and generally being supportive of
the game. We have teams for children aged 5 and up in most age brackets, teams for both men and women of any ages, and teams for players over the age of 35. Our over 35's teams and some all age men's/mixed teams play on Friday nights. Children's games are generally played on Saturday's, the first games of the day are usually around 9am and start with the youngest age group, with the day finishing with our remaining all age men's/mixed teams. Our weekends end with our women's teams who play on Sunday mornings. We open our canteen for all home games, and we have the BBQ running on Saturday's from the first game. Our volunteers perform many jobs at our home games, from supervising games as duty officers, and refereeing mini roos games to setting up fields for the games, among other essential tasks. We love and appreciate new players or parents who want to participate in a volunteer role, whether it be for half an hour one weekend, or a couple of hours every other weekend. Our aim as a club is to see our little Panda's enjoying themselves with their friends, building up their skills and working as a team, as well as our bigger Panda's letting loose on the field with old and new mates, and continuing their love of the game.
