'Get Ready Weekend' is this weekend — 19–20 September 🔥

With bush fire season on the way, the NSW RFS is running Get Ready Weekend this Friday and Saturday across the state — and as a club that spends plenty of time on fire trails and in the bush ourselves, this one matters to us.

Pop along to a local RFS event, chat to your local brigade, and put together a Bush Fire Survival Plan for your place (myfireplan.com.au makes it easy). A bit of prep now makes a real difference when it counts.

And it's not just this weekend — our local RFS volunteers turn out year-round to protect the community we all love exploring. If you're in a position to help, there are plenty of ways:

🚒 Volunteer — RFS brigades are always looking for new members, and you don't need firefighting experience to get involved
💰 Donate — every dollar helps keep our brigades equipped and ready
📣 Spread the word — share this post, or point a mate toward their nearest brigade

S4X4 was proud to once again support the Camp-Oven Cook-Off at the Nerriga Hotel, raising funds and awareness for the Black Dog Institute.

For us, being a 4WD club is about more than getting out on the tracks. It’s about bringing people together, supporting our community and making a difference — particularly when it comes to mental health, first responders, veterans, defence personnel and other community organisations.

That’s one of the things that makes Shoalhaven 4WD Club (S4X4) different. We combine the adventure and mateship of four-wheel driving with a genuine commitment to our community.

It's time to welcome back another fantastic team to the **2026 Nerriga Camp Oven Cook Off**, proudly supporting the incredible work of the **Black Dog Institute**. ❤️

🚙🔥 **THE STICKY MAPLE MUDFLAPS** *(aka the Shoalhaven 4WD Club)* 🔥🚙

The **Shoalhaven 4WD Club** is back for another year, bringing their sense of adventure, community spirit and, hopefully, some camp oven magic! 🍲🌿

For this crew, four-wheel driving is about so much more than tackling tracks. It's about getting away from the hustle and bustle, reconnecting with nature, sharing stories around the campfire and enjoying the company of great mates. Whether they're exploring the bush, camping under the stars or lending a hand when someone needs it, mateship and looking out for one another are at the heart of everything they do. ⭐🏕️

That's why supporting the **Black Dog Institute** is so important to them. Events like the Nerriga Camp Oven Cook Off remind us that it's okay to check in on a mate, have a chat, listen, and ask for help when it's needed. Strong friendships really do make a difference. 💙
