From the very first year I started—16 years ago—Janalli Anglican Youth Group have joined me for their annual kayak tour, and every single time we’ve been blessed with perfect conditions on the water. Not once have we had to cancel due to wind or weather.

I love getting schools on the water ✌️😊❤️ They always remind me of two things…
First — my days at Nelson Bay High School during end-of-year activities, when we’d get up to playful mischief and soak up those ready-for-summer vibes.
Second — my time working at Summer Camps overseas, getting city kids out in nature and outside their comfort zones. At first, they’d be hesitant, but by the end, you could see a quiet confidence shining through.
School groups remind me not to grow up too fast — keeping me grounded as a middle-aged boy just trying to keep the adventure alive. Cheers ✌️

Hello everyone!
After nearly 17 years in business, I figured it’s probably about time I introduced myself properly.
I’m Michael — the bloke behind Port Stephens Kayak & SUP.
To be honest, I’ve pretty much been freestyling my way through life since day one. I’m no entrepreneur, and I probably know as much about running a business as what a pelican does. But what I do have is a big dose of motivation, a love for life experiences, and a passion for anything I set my mind towards.
I know the Bay like the back of my hand and still reckon I’ve got the best “office” in the world.
