The latest GVL Player Rankings for Rounds 6-10 have landed and there's a new king of the mountain! 👑🔥

🔺 Mark Marriott has surged from 6th place in the Round 1-5 rankings all the way to No. 1 after an incredible 212-point performance that lit up the competition.
🥈 Norris continues his outstanding season after sitting 3rd in the early rankings and remains one of the league's most consistent stars.

Some football stories aren't defined by the games played.
They're defined by the determination it takes to keep coming back. 💪

Two weeks ago, Seymour's Huw Jones reached his 50th senior game milestone. For many players, that's a number achieved in a handful of seasons.

For Huw, it represents years of setbacks, rehabilitation, support from teammates and an unwavering commitment to the Lions. ❤️💙

Pictured alongside one of his closest mates, Dylan Cook, in two of the photos featured in this post, the pair have shared a football journey stretching back to their junior days. Huw in the Tahbilk colours. Dylan proudly representing St Mary's. 🏉

That's also them as babies - Huw is on the left.

📊 THEIR JOURNEY BY THE NUMBERS
🔹 Both debuted from Seymour's talented 2018 Under 18 side
🔹 Dylan Cook has played only 33 senior games across with the Lions the past 8½ seasons
🔹 Huw missed two full seasons through serious shoulder and knee injuries
🔹 Both are ranked in the top 40 players in the GVL this year 💙🦁

For many Seymour supporters, the image of Huw in the fluorescent pink runner's vest became almost as familiar as seeing him in a Lions jumper. 🩷

Injuries can take away games.
They can take away seasons.
But they can't take away character. 💯

Through surgeries, rehab sessions, frustrations and missed opportunities, both Huw and Dylan kept showing up.

Their stories are a powerful reminder that some of football's greatest victories never appear on the scoreboard.

Sometimes the biggest win is simply pulling the jumper back on. ❤️💙

There are footballers who build their lives around football.
Then there is Chris “Buffa” Ryan.

This Saturday at Deakin Reserve, against Shepparton Bears, the Tatura stalwart brings up 200 senior Goulburn Valley League games - a milestone built on loyalty and doing things his own way.

“For nearly two decades, no matter where in the world Buffa Ryan happened to be, Tatura was always home.”
