Another huge weekend of GVL finals is in the books, and it's time to pick through everything that unfolded across the first and second semi-finals. 🏉🏐

The GVL Netball Preliminary Finals are set, and there are some cracking match-ups waiting for us at Deakin Reserve next Sunday!
And how about the A Grade contest? 👀
🏐 A GRADE: ECHUCA v MOOROOPNA
If you want an indication of just how evenly matched these two teams are, rewind to Round 18.
The result?
37-ALL. 🤯
After four quarters, absolutely nothing separated the Murray Bombers and Cats.
Now they meet again with a place in the 2026 A Grade Grand Final on the line.
No draw this time. Someone has to advance. Someone’s season has to end. 😬
And there are some equally intriguing contests across the other grades.

Euroa gets a second shot at Grand Final glory after falling to the Bears in the Second Semi Final.

🟢⚪ THREE TEAMS. THREE GRAND FINALS. WHAT A DAY FOR ECHUCA!

The Murray Bombers can put their feet up next weekend. 😎
Well… perhaps not quite.

But Echuca now has THREE football teams through to the GVL Grand Final at Deakin Reserve on Sunday, September 20 after completing a clean sweep of today’s Second Semi Finals. 🔥🏉

And they’ll have two weeks to prepare for the biggest day of the season.
The question is…
👀 WHO WILL THEY PLAY?

Next Sunday’s Preliminary Finals will decide it, and there’s a very real possibility we could end up with the same two clubs battling for the premiership in all three football grades.

🏆 SENIOR FOOTBALL
Echuca awaits the winner of:

🏆 RESERVES FOOTBALL

That means the equation is pretty simple.
If the Bears can complete a Preliminary Final clean sweep next Sunday, September 13, we’ll have:

🏉 Under 18s

Three grades. Two clubs. One enormous Grand Final day. 🤯🏆
But Kyabram and Benalla will have plenty to say about that first.

With a sensational performance today, Echuca has officially made it THREE football teams marching through to Grand Final day on Sunday, September 20!
The Murray Bombers are locked, loaded, and ready to turn up the heat. 🔥
The celebrations are loud, the song has been sung with pride, and the momentum is well and truly with the green and white! 🎶🎥

500 GAMES OF PURE LEGEND! 👑🏉
Today, the entire GVL community stops to applaud a true icon of regional football - Andrew Moore on his milestone of umpiring 500 senior football games!
Reaching 500 games is a rare, monumental achievement that speaks volumes about longevity, and a deep love for the game. But the most telling moment of the day came after the final siren.
In a powerful show of ultimate respect, both senior football teams came together to form a combined guard of honour, cheering Andrew off the ground to celebrate the milestone. It was a class act by everyone involved and a perfect reflection of what country football is all about.
