Hi all, just wanted to let you all know about the funds raised from the 4 Auctions lastnight from myself and Daniel Crafty Kiwi Lures. $1200 have been forwarded and placed into Allen's Go Fund Me. A massive thankyou to all those that bid, and showed support. Here's hoping he gets his heart transplant and on the mend asap.

Hey all, thanks everyone who participated in the lure auctions tonight to help raise some funds to a fellow Aussie in need.
Daniel from Crafty Kiwi Lures tried to auction these to also raise money for the same cause. And unfortunately he got let down by seemingly fake accounts bidding.
So Im going to auction them off here for him.
Its a set, a nice hand carved and hand foiled glidebait and a matching bottle opener. The glidebait comes with a display stand. Some of these pics dont give the quality justice, they are much better to see in person.
Good to use or put in your collection.
For a good cause.
Any further info on the person we are raising funds for is in Crafty Kiwi Lures recent posts, along with his go fund me.

Hey all, here's a better look at the murray cod fish carving. Mounted on a natural habitat display base I put together.
I bought the piece of spider wood driftwood, and cut and carved the timber base to look like a sand shelf. Then glued sand and stones on that come straight from a local stretch of the Goulburn River here in regional vic. After washing of course.
It was the first time I've carved proper curly fins to look more realistic, and Im really happy with how they come out.
Theres a fair difference in the eye placement on a young small cod to an older big metery. This one is meant to be a meter plus cod, with the eyes further up on the head. And the big girls tend to have dents and divets in their head, which I also tried to capture.
Going by photos and from what I can tell, the freshwater fish don't have a high gloss look to them when underwater. And I know most of the world champion fish carvers dont clear coat their work at all, due to this very reason.
I did decide to clear coat it, tho in a satin finish rather than glossy.
But what are your thoughts on that, would you personally prefer a high gloss finish?
