Shelley parkrun Shelley parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community at 8am ev The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Shelley parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful foreshore and get physically active in the process. We

want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

Well done to everyone who came out to Shelley parkrun this morning for event #482!

It was a lovely morning, calm but chilly, making great running conditions! There were a few PB‘s and lots of smiling faces at the end of the run. Well done to everybody who came out today, especially the volunteers who hung around in the cold weather waiting for the runners to come in.

If you’d like to volunteer in the coming weeks, please have a look on the website page at the volunteer schedule and we can pop you in!

Finally, there was a jacket and a coffee mug left this morning. I’ve got these safe and will bring them back next week if you’d like to collect them.

This week 264 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 26 were first timers and 50 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 11 different clubs took part.
