2027 RE-SIGNING 🔏

We’re thrilled to announce that Lachlan Giles has re-committed to the Lions for 2027! 🦁

Lachy Giles – one of the toughest and most reliable defenders in our side. A genuine team-first player who is always willing to take on a job, compete hard and put his body on the line for his teammates.

Lachy averaged nearly six intercept possessions, four one-percenters and more than two spoils a game in 2026, underlining just how important he is to our defensive unit.

You always know what you’re going to get from him – effort, toughness and a willingness to do whatever the team needs.

Fantastic to have him locked in for another season at The Den.

Well done, Lachy!

2027 RE-SIGNINGS 🔏

We’re excited to announce that Cooper Holdsworth-Rose and Jesse Brock have both re-committed to the Lions for 2027! 🦁

Cooper Holdsworth-Rose – a young defender who continues to grow with every senior opportunity. Coop is tough, disciplined and willing to do the team-first jobs, ranking among our best for one-percenters and spoils in 2026. Plenty of upside and another important year of development ahead.

Jesse Brock – an emerging young ruckman who took another big step forward this season. Jesse averaged nearly 23 hit-outs a game and showed plenty of promise against some quality opposition. Still developing his craft, but has all the tools to become a really important player for us in the years ahead.

Great to have two more young Lions locked in for 2027.

Well done, Coop and Jesse!

Seymour 35 def by Mooroopna 53

It was always going to be a tough game against Mooroopna, but the girls came out firing and it was pretty even for the first quarter.

More of the same in the second quarter, but then they lost their way and Mooroopna took advantage of that.

Not a great third quarter, but the fourth quarter saw us win the quarter.

Great season for the girls, should be proud of themselves. See you next year.

Seymour Hardware Group B GRADE

Seymour 46 def Echuca 36

What a brilliant display of finals netball.

The first quarter Echuca got the jump on us despite us getting plenty of the ball.

We narrowed the margin slightly in the second, increasing our defensive pressure and creating more turnovers.

We continued in the third to capitalise on our defensive efforts and pile the goals on and limit Echuca to just three goals.

Our attacking end was brilliant, with players finding their confidence to release the ball.

We maintained our composure in the final term to close out the game and finish with a 10-goal win. An absolute team effort with everyone playing their role.

O'SULLIVAN BUILDERS B RESERVE

Seymour32 def by United 34

Slow start by the Lions, but they drew on experience to level the score at half-time.

United’s pressure was tight in defence, creating turnovers in the third quarter, with Seymour trailing going into the last.

Low scoring, with rain and extreme weather interrupting play for 30 minutes.

The final quarter saw the Lions win 6–4 through tough conditions.

B Reserve are through to the Preliminary Final despite this loss.

2027 RE-SIGNINGS 🔏

We’re excited to announce that Benjamin Cooney and Ricky Schraven have both re-committed to the Lions for 2027! 🦁

Benjamin Cooney – a dependable defender who continues to play an important role in our back six. C***s reads the game well, competes strongly in the air and gives us plenty of composure behind the ball. A reliable teammate who goes about his footy with minimal fuss.

Ricky Schraven – a talented wingman with the ability to hurt sides with his kicking and scoreboard impact. Ricky averaged 14 disposals, nearly five marks and more than a goal a game in 2026, while regularly giving us an attacking option through the middle and forward half.

Great to have both C***s and Ricky back at The Den for another season.

Well done, boys!

2027 RE-SIGNING 🔏

We’re thrilled to announce that Dylan Cook has re-committed to the Lions for 2027!

Cooky has been a dominant presence through the middle of the ground in 2026 and has established himself as one of the competition’s premier midfielders.

Averaging 30 disposals, 17 contested possessions, 10 clearances and seven tackles a game, Dylan’s ability to win the footy at the coalface and influence games has been enormous. He ranks number one at Seymour for disposals, contested possessions and clearances, while his 139 ranking points per game also leads the club.

His outstanding season should see him feature strongly when the Morrison Medal votes are counted.

A huge re-signing for the Lions and fantastic to have one of the competition’s best midfielders locked in for another year.

Well done, Cooky!
