As a new year begins, it's a time to reflect on the past year and all that has been accomplished. I am proud to say that the Sessendo Martial Arts club has grown and thrived over the past year, and I am honored to have been a part of it all.
This year, we had the privilege of hosting our end of year breakup at the Blyth Cinemas, and it was a true joy to see all three communities of Clare, Blyth, and Balaklava come together to celebrate. When I first started the club in Clare back in 2018, I never could have imagined that it would grow to be what it is today.
I would like to take a moment to congratulate all of the award winners for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. The Kaizen Award for Most Improved was awarded to Cruz Miller, Sarah Davies, and Georgia England, while the Yuki Award for Courage and Bravery went to Denise Nellas, Kaidance Tippet, and Harmony Gregory. The Giri Award for Duty and Loyalty was awarded to Mara Butler Vangils, Coline Banas, and Charlotte Smith. A special congratulations goes out to Coline Banas for winning the award for Overall Most Improved.
This year, we also added a new award to recognize the mothers who have continually supported the club by supporting their own children and promoting the club to others in the community. Congratulations to Lisa Miller, Amy Allegretto, and Meg Mader for receiving this special award.
But let us not forget about all of the other students who have attended classes each night and made a commitment to improve themselves. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your dedication and hard work, and for making the Sessendo Martial Arts club what it is today.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Sessendo Martial Arts end of year breakup. It was a true pleasure to see everyone come together to celebrate the end of the year and all that has been accomplished. Here's to another great year ahead!
