Grand Final week is upon us. If you can lend an hour or several we’d appreciate your help. Please text Mace when you might be able to come or just pop in after midday on Thursday and Friday

There’ll be a board in the bar of jobs to be done. If you can take a look there and initial a job once complete that would be awesome, we’ll post the list in the comments below soon.

Basic cleaning supplies should be behind the bar as well, but please bring stuff from home if you can to make the job quicker and easier!

Vale ‘Brian Tuohey’

It is with a saddened heart we say farewell to Bears Lagoon Serpentine Football Netball Club great, Brian Tuohey. His association with our club over the last 70 years has been profound.

Starting as a player in 1959, Brian was integral in four Senior Premierships with the Bears and a massive influence with the Juniors. He was a great Clubman, known for his booming kick and his ability to send the ball a long way. He went on to lead the Club as President and also served as President of the LVFNL.

His dedication to serving the Club and community is well recognised with Life Membership of both the BLSFNC and the LVFNL.

He was one of the inaugural inductees to the Club Hall of Fame and was a great character, friend and much-loved member of our football family.

Brian’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 25th August at 1:30pm at Yarrayne Cemetery and back to the Serpentine Hall afterwards

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan, Simon and Emily, in-laws Natalie and Stem, and grandkids Cade, Keira, Macey and Frasier.

Rest in Peace, Brian. 🕊️

Kiera is the ultimate team person, a great leader and one of those players who can turn her hand to just about anything. She brings plenty of fun and personality to the team, while being a fantastic role model for the younger and newer girls coming through the club.
